Ivy Tech Spring 2011 Applicants

Hey, just seeing who's on here that will be applying with me. I'm applying to Muncie, Kokomo, and Ft. Wayne. I feel like this is all I think about already. I'm retaking a couple of pre reqs this summer to improve my score. I've already taken the teas but will probably retake it as I only received an 83. I've also attended all the nursing info sessions. What is everybody else doing to prepare? I'm so paranoid about forgetting something! I'm looking forward to talking with people in the same boat. Or if anyone who has already applied wants to share advice, I'd gladly listen!

Hello Everyone! I am also excited and nervous to start school. I keep reading old posts on how hard nursing school is and how people hate it..lol. I'm ready for the challenge tho!! Has anyone got their books? I'm almost done with all the paperwork finally.

I have all my books. I got them all off Amazon.com for 400.00. Which campus are you going to?

I'm going to the Gary campus. I don't even know what books were are suppose to get. I try to look them up online and it hasn't been working.

Bloomington was very organized. They gave us our book list at orientation.

I also have read some of the older posts about nursing school being difficult, but I am ready to take it on! I have not bought my books yet. I had to get an MMR and Varicella bootster:crying2:. Done my criminal history & drug testing:up:.

you should get your books on amazon. Much cheaper than the bookstore. I thought the hep B shot with the diptheria, tetorifice, and pertussis in my poor left arm was going to kill me. I had to get varicella too. I have more boosters to come in a month. Did you get your scrubs yet? I think you have to know that since nursing school is so hard to even get into that it is going to be a hard program. I think it will make us better nurses though. Good luck!

I will check amazon for books. I have not got my scrubs yet. Will we need them before we go to the hospital? I still have to get the varicella booster and 2nd TB test next month. Are there a specific kind of shoes we are suppose to wear with our scrubbs?

yes, we need to have our scrubs by then. Do we have to have them for labs too? In Columbus they do. I have searched high and low for shoes. No luck yet. Its hard to find cute and good all white shoes. I am going to DSW shoe wearhouse tomorrow. My friend has Landau and hates them.
