Hey, just seeing who's on here that will be applying with me. I'm applying to Muncie, Kokomo, and Ft. Wayne. I feel like this is all I think about already. I'm retaking a couple of pre reqs this summer to improve my score. I've already taken the teas but will probably retake it as I only received an 83. I've also attended all the nursing info sessions. What is everybody else doing to prepare? I'm so paranoid about forgetting something! I'm looking forward to talking with people in the same boat. Or if anyone who has already applied wants to share advice, I'd gladly listen!
I know it is way to early to be thinking like this, but I am scared to death. I am scared of starting the program and doing bad. Reading other blogs on here and seeing the different things that people do in the program I am freaked out about not being able to keep up or understand what is going on!! I know this shouldn't even be an issue right now, but I can't help being freaked out right now...Am I the only one feeling like this?!?!
Take a deep breath! It will be okay. Yes, I'm nervous too and it will definitely be a challenge, but we will all get through it! Just remember how bad you want it and this will get you through the hard times!
She only said that the letters were on someone else's desk for signature, and should be mailled out Tuesday evening. I asked her for the low score, but she could not disclose that information. I asked her if the scores were lower than usual, and she again siad she could not say anything more about it. I hope we all get in. I know how hard we all have worked :)
Yay, I'm excited our wait is almost over!! I just really want to know either way. I applied to iuk this weekend if that tells what I think will happen. I'm trying to remain positive though snd know its not over til its over. Good luck you two! Glad were in this together!
Well I really hope you don't have to worry about IUK! However, I totally understand and have considered doing the same thing. I am not making any moves until we get the letter. Hopefully this will all be over and we will all be happy with our results, no matter what![/quote']Thank you. I, too, hope applying was a waste of my time! But regardless my ultimate goal is to be a nurse and I'm also trying to be realistic. It will suck if I go to iuk bc I won't finish for 4 more years bc its a 3 yr program and I wouldn't start til next fall. That seems like forever especially when I think my 1 and 3 yr old would be 5 and 7!!!however, like I said, I don't care how I get there or how long it takes. I'm doing it!!
Ps. When you say considering the same thing, do you specifically mean iuk or just another college?
Hey Catnipjones. I also went to my high school to get my shot records this morning. I actually called the health department first and they only had one of my shots on record. So that was really no help at all! I am going to try to get my shots at the health department too! I am not sure if they do the TB shots though ? I guess I would have to call them! Oh and you are taking the same cpr class that I took. (I am pretty sure it is the right class.) It was a little long I mean 8-5 is like a whole work day, but it's actually not that bad. I must admit though that my arms were sore from from doing chest compressions on the dummie. At the end of the class we took a multiple choice test over all the information we learned. I think you will do fine, I mean you did good enough to get into the program! I am super excited, but nervous myself. :/

I will also be glad to know one way or the other. I am going to stay positive as well. I truly believe that one day we all will be nurses because of our determination and positive attitude.:)
Hi. I've been following this thread for several weeks, but have never posted anything until today. Just thought some of you might be interested to hear that I just got a call from the Lafayette campus and have been accepted as an alternate. I had 188 points. I also applied at Lawrence, where I had 191 points (with the extra 3 for being a local resident). Of course I didn't get in there. And I applied at Muncie/Anderson. I haven't heard from them yet, but if I do happen to get in there I'll be turning it down. Hope this is helpful info for some of you. Congrats to all of you who have been accepted and best of luck to those still waiting to hear.

Awesome news! Considering our scores are very similar, I'm hoping you get in at muncie! Congrats on getting in!

I didn't know where to get my records either...so I went to the doctor and had titers drawn. This will show what you have been tested for and what you need still. I'm waiting until registration for the physical forms to make sure I get all the right shots. They will give the information about the drug test and background check at registration. And congrats about getting in!!!
