Ivy Tech Spring 2011 Applicants

Published

Hey, just seeing who's on here that will be applying with me. I'm applying to Muncie, Kokomo, and Ft. Wayne. I feel like this is all I think about already. I'm retaking a couple of pre reqs this summer to improve my score. I've already taken the teas but will probably retake it as I only received an 83. I've also attended all the nursing info sessions. What is everybody else doing to prepare? I'm so paranoid about forgetting something! I'm looking forward to talking with people in the same boat. Or if anyone who has already applied wants to share advice, I'd gladly listen!

Okay so I still haven't recieved anything in Fort Wayne. ? I need to know sson, my anxiety keeps building!

DoJohnson, I don't know about other campuses, but the nursing secretary at Valpo said that last year, 22 people applied for 20 transition spots. And Valpo's fairly competitive, as far as scores / applicants go....

teboz, I don't think you'll have to take the transition class that I will. I think you'll start the actual nursing classes this January. And maybe go Spring 2011, Summer 2011 or Spring 2011, Fall 2011 and be done.

Congrats to everyone getting in! I know how hard everyone is working and how anxious everyone is. I applied to Indy and Anderson/Muncie with 196 and 193. I was so hopeful for Indy because it is 5 minutes from my house. However, I would reeeaaallllyy like to get into Muncie now-I won't mind the drive for the outcome! I called on Thursday to ask when the letters were coming and she told me she was working on them when I called! I asked if we should expect them by next week and she said we should have them by Monday at the latest. Needless to say I have been stalking my mailbox ever since! If I don't get in this time I will keep trying, what's one more semester compared to a lifetime of nursing! Good luck to everyone still waiting, maybe we will be in class together in January!!

Mrcsmom, I called muncie on thurs and they told me they'd be sent out either at the end of this week or the end of next week! I certainly hope they're on their way! I applied with a 186. I hope scores are low enough for us both to get in. It will be about an hour drive for me, but I'm with you on thinking it would be worth it! Good luck!

Mr.C'sMom & Mygirlskk, I am also waiting on letter fom Muncie with score 194. It will be about an hour drive for me as well, but it will be very mcuh worth it. I pray we all get in!

Letter from layfayette and indy r coming in!

I'm glad we share each others pain! Nothing from muncie in the mail today and because mail won't run the next 2 days, it will be Tuesday at the earliest we hear something. Ugh!! Hey, what direction are you? I'm north of muncie about 10 min away from the marion campus. Also, did you see where I was talking to someone on here who had heard muncie had a low number of applicants with low scores?? Fingers crossed! I'm hoping that bc they only offer lpn in spring that not as many ppl applied hoping for rn.

I received my letter today for the RN Transition Program (Lawrence), I got in!!!!!!!! I am overjoyed!!!:D

I hope what you heard in class is true, for all of us! I live about 30 minutes south of anderson on the north east side of Indy (down the street from the Indy nursing campus!). IF I get in, I am really hoping my classes will be in anderson, I guess they try to place you at the campus you are closest to in the region. I will let you muncie lady's know if I get something in the mail Tuesday.

So I was hoping to get my letter for the RN program yesterday (Saturday), but nothing yet? I am starting to get scared. I would have thought I should have received it by now. Anyone else in the Fort Wayne area waiting on their RN letter please let me know. I feel all alone.

Id call on Monday. I got mine fri for lpn and rn. Don't worry about messing up your application bc even if you did, you would still receive a letter. My denial letter said you either didn't score enough points or didn't meet application requirements. With your score, there's no way you're not in. Relax and call tomorrow. Btw, I live about 50 min south of ft wayne campus.
