Ivy Tech Nursing: Fall 2016

Hey everybody!

The time has finally come to apply! I'm a mixture of excited, curious but most importantly NERVOUS!

I created this thread to share scores, tips and any rumors you've heard about getting into nursing school on your campus.

I guess I should start by sharing my scores.

I got an A in Anatomy, A in Psych, and a B in English. I haven't taken my TEAS yet but I am studying for it everyday. I plan on getting an 80 or higher since I've heard a lot of people on my campus only get in with that. I am applying to the Bloomington campus for the RN and LPN program. Good luck to everybody!

it definitely depends on where you're applying girl. good luck in your decisions

I am so shocked to hear your advisors give you such awful advice. Usually they try to tell you to retake your B classes, esp if your shooting for ASN. What campus are you at? I'd def retake it. Even for a shot as an LPN. I did the LPN and there are so many applicants for both ASN & LPN that have straight A's. I think it'll really benefit you. Jst my opinion.. Gd luck

I appreciate your opinion. I feel the same way, I should retake any classes that I don't have good grades in. I might put off taking the teas, and change everything. Just work on my grades

Ill be applying to Valpo campus and maybe south bend. I had an A in ENG, B in PHYCH, B in APHY. I just took my TEAS and only got a 70 which would give me a total of 115. I will be retaking my TEAS so I can apply to the ASN and LPN. I know 115 is not good enough :(

I'm sorry, hope you do great on the next try

Hi everyone. I sent in my application to lawrence asn program a few weeks ago. I don't think we get acceptance letters back till around June. Does anyone know if that is correct time frame? My total score was 145/160 ,As in eng and a&p101,B in psychology, and 90.5 on the Teas. I don't want to retake the Teas again . I used the Ati manual to study and found the practice tests on the website to help dramatically. I did not apply to any other programs but I think I will be ok with the score of 145 or at least I hope so. Fingers crossed! Good luck to everyone taking the Teas this month. Make sure to study. I took my first practice test before ever studying and only got a 75 on it. So studying the suggested study guides that come after the practice scores will help you take the real thing.

I have heard around the beginning of June as well. Good luck to you! I applied to Lawrence, Columbus, and Bloomington.

I just finished my TEAS.... can't say it was easy.

I have an A in ANPY 101 and 102, A in Psychology and English. 88% on the TEAS exam today. So 148/160 will be the score with my application.

I am only applying to Bloomington since I have 4 kids that really don't need both of their parents working an hour from home...so not a lot of options here. I spoke with the Nursing office, last Fall the highest application score was 153, a rare score. 136-153 were the scores for the first 40 seats offered, 15 declined and went to other schools. The next 14 dropped the range to 128. Then the LPN program took scores down to 120.

This is a good ballpark to consider with the Bloomington campus. Good luck to everyone applying....that due date is almost here. For those that do make it in, the orientation will be around the 1st or 2nd week of July. June 1st is when letters will go out once they have all of the submitted grades turned in from the spring semester....it couldn't come fast enough, the waiting game will be painfull.
