Ivy tech LPN - RN Transition summer 2016

Published

I plan on applying to the LPN-RN transition for summer 2016. The deadline is feb1st. I've seen everyone make posts for it for every year except this year? Does that mean nobody is applying ??? Lol. Just wanted to know what grades / Teas score everyone got.

I had

APH101 A

ENGL A

PSYCH B

got a low TEAS score, planning on retaking it in a few days. Very nervous abt TEAS. Not sure how people are getting freaking 80's & 90's, but kudo's to you guys, seriously. I'm jealous..

Anyways, the majority of my corequisites are completed. I'm just one class from being done :)

At least we don't have to wait as long as we did for the traditional programs! That took forever!!! Nonetheless...the wait will be agonizing!

I currently attend Ivy Tech Bloomington and I am definitely a non traditional student. I am in my 40's and this is my first time attending college with a GED. I am hoping to get into the ASN program this fall (2016) but I am really worried about the TEAS exam. I have taken English and Psychology and got an "A" in both of those. I am currently enrolled in the A/P 101 online 16 week class. Even if I can pull an "A" out of this class I am worried that I will score so poorly on the TEAS that I will only be able to get into the LPN program which is not what I want to do but I would if I have to. Since I quit school in the 8th Grade I never took classes such as Chemistry, Biology or even Algebra. I have bought every study guide imaginable but that has just overwhelmed me. You just cannot cram 4 years of high school into a few months. Going into this past semester I had a 4.0 GPA but because math is not my strong point I ended up getting a B+ in Math 123 and that brought me down to a 3.813 GPA. All my other classes are "A's" The online A/P 101 class that I am taking has two proctored exams and two open book exams. That seems pretty fair to me. We take our first open book exam next week. Mid-term and Final both proctored. I plan to make my first attempt at the TEAS in a couple weeks. If I do not get into one of the programs for the fall then I will go to Chamberlain College in Indy who takes everybody in, they have already checked my credits and they will transfer and I can have a Bachelors in Nursing in less than 3 years, the down fall is they charge almost $90,000 for this education. I wish you all the best of luck. I know how frustrating this process, especially when you want something so bad. Bloomington has both the LPN and the RN programs. But I will apply to every campus in the state. I have no kids to worry about so I will pack my bags and move to which ever campus will have me. I will be anxious to hear how you all make out. Glad I finally found a posting that wasn't 4-5 years old.

Oh yes! Today is the last day to turn the LPN to ASN applications in! Let the countdown begin!!

YESSSSSS :-D.

I picked up some overtime & joined a gym, to give myself something to do instead of sit and count down the days lolol. Hopefully this extra busy-ness makes Feb go by fast!! It said they send out the letters on or before the 28th. Which I thnk is the weekend sooo hopefully sooner than later!

That's awesome! My butt has been in the gym too!! :)

Hi everyone!!!

I cut my application extremely close and dropped it off at 1pm when it was due at 4pm... I too did horrible on the TEAS with a score of 66. I was so upset with myself but it was my own fault. Didn't study much and waited until last Wednesday to take it. Why do we need to know most of that stuff anyhow? Good luck to everyone! Hope we all get in:up:

BTW I see there are 2 other people that applied to Crown Point!! Fingers crossed we start together this summer!

Omg yes! I was hoping more people would reply to this thread so we all can help each other get through the next 3 weeks! :banghead:

I thought so 2. Longest 3 weeks of my life. í ½í¸‚

Swear...

But apparently, nobody is applying this semester lol

The less applicants, the better of odds for us! I'm trying very hard to keep my mind off of each passing day. But it does not help when I'm asked, DAILY from co-workers, on when I'm suppose to find out if I was accepted. *sigh*
