Hi everybody! I am currently a student at Ivy Tech Bloomington. I am just one class and a Teas Exam from applying for the nursing program. I am very nervous and just trying to have backup options in the event I am not accepted into the program here. I have been in contact with Chamberlain College and they have told me that my credits would transfer over to theirs and that I could obtain a Bachelor's in Nursing in less than 3 years. That sounds great except the fact it will set me back about $90,000 to do so. That is a lot of money. Now don't quote me on this as these statistic that I am about to quote came from someone on here and we know just how reliable that can be. But I read that the graduation rate from Chamberlain was somewhere around 10% but that the NCLEX pass rate was somewhere around 98% I can see this being true since they literally have no criteria to getting into their program other than having the 90k. Just looking for experiences from ONLY those who have attended the Indy campus. I really don't care about what happens in other locations as I am not attending those campuses. I know that the Indy campus has not been open but a couple years now. 3-4 I think.

Just curious to see if there are any people out there applying to the Fall Nursing Program. I will be applying for the first time here soon. I have taken both Psychology and English which I got A's in both. I am currently enrolled in the A/P 101 online this semester. So the only thing I have left to do is take the Teas 5 Exam. I am terrified of this test and worried about if I can even pass it much less get a high enough score to get accepted. I am a non traditional student in my 40's and this is the first time that I have been to college. That in itself is overwhelming for me. But so far I have done well. I dropped out of school in the 8th grade and took my GED a few months later and barely passed it but I did. That is why I am so worked up about the TEAS because I have never taken any Algebra,Chemistry, or Biology which I hear there is a lot of that on these tests. I have looked at every study guide they have out there. Hard to cram 4 years of high school in a few months time. I hope to get into the Nursing program for the fall but if I don't then I at least hope to get offered the LPN class. I will apply and accept any campus in the state. Just curious to see what others experience has been like. I am planning my first attempt at the TEAS exam in a couple weeks. Wish me luck! I know that I will need it.

I am hoping to get into the ASN program this fall (2016) but I am really worried about the TEAS exam. I have taken English and Psychology and got an "A" in both of those. I am currently enrolled in the A/P 101 online 16 week class. Even if I can pull an "A" out of this class I am worried that I will score so poorly on the TEAS that I will only be able to get into the LPN program which is not what I want to do but I would if I have to. Since I quit school in the 8th Grade I never took classes such as Chemistry, Biology or even Algebra. I have bought every study guide imaginable but that has just overwhelmed me. You just cannot cram 4 years of high school into a few months. Going into this past semester I had a 4.0 GPA but because math is not my strong point I ended up getting a B+ in Math 123 and that brought me down to a 3.813 GPA. All my other classes are "A's" The online A/P 101 class that I am taking has two proctored exams and two open book exams. That seems pretty fair to me. We take our first open book exam next week. Mid-term and Final both proctored. I plan to make my first attempt at the TEAS in a couple weeks. If I do not get into one of the programs for the fall then I will go to Chamberlain College in Indy who takes everybody in, they have already checked my credits and they will transfer and I can have a Bachelors in Nursing in less than 3 years, the down fall is they charge almost $90,000 for this education. I wish you all the best of luck. I know how frustrating this process, especially when you want something so bad. Bloomington has both the LPN and the RN programs. But I will apply to every campus in the state. I have no kids to worry about so I will pack my bags and move to which ever campus will have me. I will be anxious to hear how you all make out. Glad I finally found a posting that wasn't 4-5 years old.
