Ivy tech LPN - RN Transition summer 2016

Published

I plan on applying to the LPN-RN transition for summer 2016. The deadline is feb1st. I've seen everyone make posts for it for every year except this year? Does that mean nobody is applying ??? Lol. Just wanted to know what grades / Teas score everyone got.

I had

APH101 A

ENGL A

PSYCH B

got a low TEAS score, planning on retaking it in a few days. Very nervous abt TEAS. Not sure how people are getting freaking 80's & 90's, but kudo's to you guys, seriously. I'm jealous..

Anyways, the majority of my corequisites are completed. I'm just one class from being done :)

I'm so ready to get this started! I can't wait until orientation and to get this started. Onward and upward!

For those of you who got your lpn at Ivy Tech and took maternal child in the summer, what was your schedule like? Specifically clinicals. I'm in the second semester of the lpn program at Lawrence now and am curious how the summer semester is. I also plan to apply for the transition program the following year.

When I attended the program, maternal child was offered in the Spring semester. We had med/surg #3 (geriatric/complex care) in the summer.

Thanks @HisLilNurse. I will be starting med surg 3/geriatrics when we come back from spring break I had med surg 2 the first 8 weeks.

You're welcome! Definitely transition within the 2 year window. I wished I could have, but the curriculum changed while I was in the program and they would not grandfather my math. I got stuck sitting out for 4 years. Within this past year (now going on 5 years out) I finally qualified for the appropriate math, passed it, and got accepted into the program. Longest 5 years of my life!

Aww man, that sucks. Yes I'm hoping I can take and pass nclex before the September deadline to come right back in the spring. If not, then definitely the summer. I don't want to retake anything!
