Ivy Tech Fall 2019 Hopefuls

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I don't believe there is a board already started. I am ready to take my TEAS test in January and apply for the Fall 2019 nursing program. I just wanted to make a board so we can all keep each other up to date. I am only able to apply at my main campus in Lafayette, IN in the Fall so I decided to wait. I hope this is a place we can offer each other support and share our scores before we wait for the news! Good luck everyone and study hard!

I dont know if that makes me feel better or worse. Maybe I just need to do some more review but the TEAS mastery app science questions have really been giving me a run for my money!! I feel like I keep getting biology questions I know NOTHING about lol I'm terrified of the science portion!!

When i took my TEAS i was nervous about the science portion too because there are so many topics and they can question you on anything. A lot of the you tube videos i watched said to study endocrine system but my exam mainly had digestive and nervous systems. So you just have to give yourself enough time to go through everything. I am strong in Math hence the higher score, the reading was not difficult but you have to mind your time and make sure you answer based on the passage and not your own knowledge, the English wasn't too bad i think i was just tired at that point because it was the last one. You will do great! Just make sure you give yourself a good month to study everything, however, some study for 2 weeks and pass but you know yourself better. Don't let it scare you go in there answer what you know what you don't i used the process of elimination lol. Good Luck!!!

Thank you so much for the encouragement and advice!! I was worried about the reading and language portions as I heard those can be hard but those have been my strongest so far, the math i feel very good about but yes the science is like ahhhh. I feel okay about the body systems since I just finished A&P 2 and chem 101 which helps with a lot of it too but some of those are just stompers, or my weak parts from a&p 101 like DNA ? but you have been super helpful and make mee feel better. I gave myself exactly a month, even tbough I have time for another test, just to be extra safe mostly because I do NOT want to pay for it again lol

hi all! I just put in my application for the gary/crown point campus! My score is a bit low, thanks to my two B's from back in 2009, with a 127.56! Hopefully, it is enough to get in with that? I saw that there are only 20 spots for this campus! Anybody else applying at this campus? If so what are your scores??

Hi I came by your post and just had to create an account, lol. I’m applied to the Gary/Crown Point campus for Fall 2019 as well and I managed to get a score of 130.96/160. Best of luck to you, I don’t see too many people applying for the Crown Point campus so hopefully that is to our advantage? My advisor said I should get in with no problem but I’m still so worried, ??.

Hello. Is anyone here trying to get into the Anderson LPN program? I also put Fort Wayne as my second choice. I finished with all A's in my pre-reqs and scored a 73.37 on my TEAS. I applied with a score of 133.37. I am hoping that gets me in. I am 50 years old...I don't want to have to wait much longer! ?

I'm not applying to either of those campuses, but from what I was told by the Bloomington's nursing school admin assistant, anything in the 130+ range is a good competitive score for the ASN program. Typically mid to high 120's are good for the LPN program. So if you have 133 for LPN, you should be good to go! I also have 133 but applying for ASN, LPN as a back up. I hope 133 is good for my two campuses ? (Bloomington primary, Terre Haute secondary)

Hopefully some of us should be finding out this weekend!

Good luck everyone!

Hello!

I have applied to Gary/Crown Point as well. Although I don't see many people on here applying to that campus, my advisor told me that it is a very competitive campus. She told me that last Fall the lowest score was a 133. That doesn't mean that is what it is this fall, but in my mind I have used it as a guideline. My score is 134.35 and still concerned if I will make it. Good luck to you! This wait is making me crazy. If I don't make it for the Fall, I will try again in the Spring.

Tomorrow is the day first round picks should find out! I applied with 133 to Bloomington (primary) and Terre Haute ASN with PN backup. If I get accepted, I definitely know I won't be a "first rounder" lol. Just more waiting and anticipation.

Good luck everyone!!! ??

Anyone heard anything yet. Did first round go out today?

Nope! They should come tomorrow at 9am from what everyone is saying on the fb page

Is there a link to the FB page

Indiana community college nursing program

The nursing admin here said she's not sure if it'll come out today tomorrow or maybe even Tuesday since it's a holiday weekend.. ahhh!
