Ivy Tech Fall 2019 Hopefuls

Published

I don't believe there is a board already started. I am ready to take my TEAS test in January and apply for the Fall 2019 nursing program. I just wanted to make a board so we can all keep each other up to date. I am only able to apply at my main campus in Lafayette, IN in the Fall so I decided to wait. I hope this is a place we can offer each other support and share our scores before we wait for the news! Good luck everyone and study hard!

Hey everyone, I'm new to this site. Found it by searching for some info on google, but it looks like we are all in the same boat. I finished my prereqs last semester and am taking A&P2, Micro, and Human Sexuality (PSYC240) this semester to finish off the non-NRSG courses. I took my TEAS today and if I did the calculation right, I have 134.03/160 for admission points for Fort Wayne (an alternate campus is not an option for me unfortunately). There is a little over 2 weeks until the online applications become available!

Now that that's done, I can re-focus on my current classes.

Although....is it too early to buy a stethoscope? I'm super excited but I don't want to jump the gun...…..but tax time is here and I will have the money soon to get a good one.

Congrats on passing the NCLEX Leadkrm! I've heard it was a beast of a test.

Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Good luck on your application process

That looks like a super competitive score from what I have seen! I'm currently taking A&P 2 and Psych 201 (Lifespan Development) and I'm planning on taking Micro this summer. I just finished my TEAS on Friday so I am in the same boat of re-focusing on my current classes!

I say it's never too early to get your stethoscope! It may seem you are jumping the gun, but you never know when it could come in handy even before you start classes!

Hi everyone! Glad to be here. I am also hoping to be accepted in fall with a score of 140. Do they check at the overall gpa? I currently have a 3.4 from my 1st associate hoping to up it to a 3.5 if I get A’s in Aphy 102 and microbiology which I am currently taking.

Gpa is a factor after you get in. It could be a factor if there were multiple students with the same application score on the cut off line. Same score higher gpa would get in the last spot.

There are only 3 pre req classes. Do you mean 3 co req classes? If you can, take microbiology because it transfers to more places for your BSN. It is the hardest class I’ve ever taken at Lawrence campus.

Sorry its been so late getting back to you! You are right to say co reqs, I believe because the classes I'm in now could be taken while in nursing. But I ended up in chemistry and anatomy 102 this semester, advanced phys next fall. Then after that hoping to FINALLY be into the nursing program by that spring. Now that my kids are starting school and by then one will be in kindergarten I think things are going much more smoothly. I did not take micro because It was only available on campus and so far I have been doing EVERYTHING online. This semester has been nuts and chemistry makes me feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water but at least aphy 102 has been clicking so, not drowning at least.

welp, just submitted my application (they've been live for about half an hour). Now I can put it out of my mind until the emails go out.

Glad to hear 102 is going well for you Kotylynne.

Congratulations! I will be crossing my fingers for you! It was so hard to feel like I was putting it off AGAIN and I SO wish it was me applying too but I will live vicariously through everyone applying now and jump for joy with you! As long as I can make it through this semester I will feel home free pretty soon!!

Hi guys! I just finished up my application. My first choice is Lawrence and my second choice is Franklin. I ended up applying with 143/160! I am super nervous and also super excited.

Hello all,

Hope all is well. I just located this thread today, after submitting my application. It’s very helpful and informative to hear about everyone’s scores and experiences. Kudos to the creator. I applied to the ASN program at the Kokom, Peru, and Lafayette campuses. It sounds like it’s going to be competitive. I’m hoping my 148.59 gets me in. I think BlueWolfStitch has the right idea, put it out of my mind and focus on the semester. It’s a lot of work and effort to make it this far so no matter the outcome, everyone has succeeded. With that being said, I really hope we all make the cut!

I also just applied to the Richmond campus with a 143. Really nervous about getting in but after talking to my coworkers(I am an NCA at Reid) they seem to think a 143 is a really good score. Best of luck to all of you!

Hello all! Fall 2019 hopeful here. Sadly, I just found out Pysch and Soc are no longer interchangeable for pre-reqs. Boo. I changed my major and just swutched back to nursing after a few traumatic life events. Has anyone taken Pysch as a summer accelrated course?! I'm TERRIFIED and pray all my hard work isn't going to waste ?

Have you ever taken psych before at all?? It can be tough but if you dont have any other obligations I think you could pull it off but its definitely going to be hard. Its a LOT of information even in a regular 16 week class.
