Ivy Tech Fall 2019 Hopefuls

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I don't believe there is a board already started. I am ready to take my TEAS test in January and apply for the Fall 2019 nursing program. I just wanted to make a board so we can all keep each other up to date. I am only able to apply at my main campus in Lafayette, IN in the Fall so I decided to wait. I hope this is a place we can offer each other support and share our scores before we wait for the news! Good luck everyone and study hard!

Side note, can anyone tell me which campuses are closest to fort wayne??

Hello all! Fall 2019 hopeful here. Sadly, I just found out Pysch and Soc are no longer interchangeable for pre-reqs. Boo. I changed my major and just swutched back to nursing after a few traumatic life events. Has anyone taken Pysch as a summer accelrated course?! I'm TERRIFIED and pray all my hard work isn't going to waste ?

I took anatomy 1 and psych together during the summer semester and got an A in both of them. (I had already taken anatomy before, but chose to retake it to earn a higher grade) It was very hard but I was able to cut down on working and focus on my classes. I would totally do it if you think you can!

Have you ever taken psych before at all?? It can be tough but if you dont have any other obligations I think you could pull it off but its definitely going to be hard. Its a LOT of information even in a regular 16 week class.

So I actually took it semester 1. I had a brand new baby and I was 4 weeks in decided I was in over my head. I was taking 4 classes so I dropped it. I also had an instructor that was virtually a wall. No response/help to any questions. I am currently taking 4 classes and 1 is an 8 week course where some weeks are 3 chapters combined. I feel like I do well, but I am awful at test taking unless its in a school type setting. Unfortunately I cant quit my job until I'm accepted to the program. So that makes me nervous.

I have been considering re taking Anatomy. I did so well class wise, but test wise I did awful which took me from an A to a B ?

That is what happened to me as well. I took them both online, which I felt like was a lot easier than in person.

I took it as a "retake" as well. (I did college WAY back in the day, before my babies as well but only made it one semester then) but I also had a C ANYWAY with some background with it i will say it IS. A little bit easier but I have been doing everything online. I suck at tests too lol

I re took aphy 101 also and it was SO much better for me the second time and I think has really helped me now in aphy 102.

With kids you already know how crazy it can be but with psych NOT being a science class I feel like you stand a better chance!

I have taken everything online up to this point. I enjoy it because if I don't understand something I can pause, watch a video take a break, etc... And go back fresh. This also makes me mervous for nursing classes becasue I haven't been doing everything face to face!

I could have wrote your comments myself!! I am terrified as well that I'm going to do awful or be extra anxious about actually being in a classroom now. I mean I WISH I was in a traditional class for chemistry right now, but that's the only thing I DONT like about online, having a question and then having to send emails and waiting hours to hear a response to figure it out.

But yeah not having breaks when I am used to or being able to double check myself on almost everything scares me lol

Hi all!

I submitted my app for Evansville campus for the RN program! It's going to be a long couple of months! Anyone else in Evansville?

I also just applied to the Richmond campus with a 143. Really nervous about getting in but after talking to my coworkers(I am an NCA at Reid) they seem to think a 143 is a really good score. Best of luck to all of you!

Hi, Bacoj that’s a great score!! You got this!! I just applied to Richmond campus as well as Muncie for ASN I applied with a 130.37!! Super excited and nervous ??

Best of luck!

Hi, I’m sorta new to this. Still getting the feel for everything but it seems like a found a good place to start! I just applied to Richmond and Muncie campus for ASN and Anderson’s LPN with a 130.37! I’m extremely excited and nervous and have also considered adding Indianapolis to my choices because they have a lot more seats! Is anyone else applying to these campus’s?

Best of luck to everyone!

Finally finished my application for the Lawrence campus with a 129. I'm super nervous about my score, as everyone sounds like they have really high scores! But Lawrence has a large amount of seats open so I'm hoping it's competitive enough! Otherwise I will be retaking Anatomy 1 and Psych. So now is the excruciating wait until May!
