I've Failed 3 times

Published

I've failed the Florida NCLEX 3 times now I have to take this $1100 mandatory remedial course. What the hell is going on?.I used Kaplan and Saunders and just don't know what is going wrong? I'm wondering can I take the test in another state and get FL license by endorsement. $1100 is not a drop in the bucket...Also which study programs do you recommend...Feuer / Kaplan /..??

Help me before I explode...this really has me down

Has anyone taken the Feuer Nclex RN review.??..I'm thinking of ordering the lecture cd's....any help or anyone has the cd's for sale..

Unless it costs less than $43 and lasts longer than 30 days, the better bet is Mosby's online thing.

It gives you an assessment of the areas you need to work on, rationales for all the answers (right and wrong), a probability of passing, and a printout of all the 150 questions (with aforementioned answers and rationales) for each of the tests you take.

It quickly became the only thing I used to prepare.

I passed with 75 questions.

My biggest disappointment was that the NCLEX wasn't very interesting.

All our troubles should be like that.

Mosby's test.... here's the link!

I read that "Feuer" is really good! Did you ever sign up for the Kaplan Review? It's a bit expensive but worth it. The instructors explain how to take the test and to figure out how to interpret the questions and answer when you're not sure. Good Luck to you.

I just took my test for the third time and I didn't pass. I was a straight A student, I have never had any problems with tests or anything like that. I took the Kaplan review, the ERI review, I have all the books by every author I can think of, but I still have not passed. I am so depressed about this it's not funny. I feel like I have wasted four years of college to get a BSN and now there isn't anything I can do with it just to get by until I can try to take it again, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Thanks,

Please see post #13. I swear by this review thing from Mosby's.

I used it exclusively the last month I prepared AND I PASSED WITH EASE.

Again, here is the link. (HERE) If you'd rather cut and paste it in (or live dangerously and just try typing it! :) ):

I never heard of Feuer. Maybe it works for some people, obviously it worked for the poster above. Why go with something you never heard of? Mosby has published educational, and specifically nursing educational, stuff for years and years.

If you have the book smarts and you have the clinical smarts, and you still can't pass the NCLEX, one of two things is happening:

1) you are so nervous and stressed out you cannot think clearly enough to make the appropriate choice or

2) you are ill prepared for the type of question found on the NCLEX.

For the second one, invest your 40 or so dollars and spend a month immersing yourself in practicing the questions until you get above 90% probability of passing.

For the first one, PM or email me, and let's talk. Maybe there is a way to help that.

You haven't wasted your education unless you give up before you get your RN.

It certainly is frustrating and disappointing but we MUST remain optimistic. I"m currently using the following books by Sylvia Rayfield

NCLEX-RN 101:HOW TO PASS (ISBN 0964362295)

Pharmacology made insanely easy (ISBN 0964362244)

SylviaRayfield.com--Im ordering her review course on cd $99

We can do this girlfriend...just remain positive, upbeat and determined.

You're very welcome. I'm always here (or close by).

Lots of people on this BB helped me when I was a student. I'm only too glad to pass it forward.

Good luck, everybody!
