I've failed the Florida NCLEX 3 times now I have to take this $1100 mandatory remedial course. What the hell is going on?.I used Kaplan and Saunders and just don't know what is going wrong? I'm wondering can I take the test in another state and get FL license by endorsement. $1100 is not a drop in the bucket...Also which study programs do you recommend...Feuer / Kaplan /..??
Help me before I explode...this really has me down

Um...the NCLEX is the same no matter what state administers it. It is a national certification exam. Going to another state to test is not going to help you.
the purpose of going to another state will be solely to avoid taking the $1100 remedial class here in FL....which study courses do you recommend

All I can say, is you CAN pass, if you made it through school, got your degree, there should be no reason not to pass. What is your weakness with test taking? Need to really anyalize what is happening, seek professional help to look at your pattern regarding studying and test taking, finding your weakness. Is it anxiety getting in the way? Do not give up. Make a good plan of action to study and practice test questions. good luck & i am behind you! YOU CAN DO IT!

Considering the fact that Kaplan has a money back guarantee, I would go that route. I took Kaplan, and it helped me pass first time around by showing me how DIFFERENT the NCLEX questions are from what we were used to.
I also used Saunders to study, so maybe it was that program that helped. No money back guarantee, and it was self study. I did 100 questions per day.
Good luck!

I used Mosby's online "CAT" program. It cost about $43 including tax (8.25% where I am), and it was good for unlimited uses for 30 days.
It tells you where your weak and strong areas are, and gives you a probability of passing the NCLEX.
What have you used to prepare in the past (books, CD's, online programs, review courses?)?
It does sound as though you need to see if you can find a different way to prepare yourself.
Also, it may be that Florida requires the $1,100 review course, but other states may not. However, you might conceivably take the exam in a different state, pass it and not be able to get a FL license because you didn't follow their instructions. The downside is, you could ask about it ahead of time, and then they would be alerted and "catch" you when you applied for your license.
In that case, how do you feel about maybe moving to another state? It's not the easiest solution, but it would allow you to practice, provided you can pass that exam.
Good luck, hon.

I feel for you and $1100 dollars. Ouch. What helped me was I had a couple of board review books, Lippincott, and Mosbey -I think. Over two months time, I read about 2000 questions from these books and wrote the rationales down in a notebook. It was time consuming but I passed. We all have different ways of learning, and I hope you find what works for you.
Good Luck

I'm so sorry you've had such a time with this test. I know how frustrating it can be. I didn't pass my first time and it was definitely a huge personal stress as well as a financial stressor on me and my husband. I just took it again last week and I was sure that I had failed and again was devastated. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I had passed. For me, I did the Kaplan on-line review course, but I think the thing that helped me the most was just doing tons of practice tests. I only did the cd-rom versions and I read the rationale on every one whether I got it wrong or right. I used the Kaplan Question Trainer, NCLEX 3000(althoug I found that one to be a bit simplified), and Saunders. The crazy thing is that i felt the same after each test (the one I passed and the one I failed). It's such a difficult test and it's so hard to know if you are doing well or not.
I think that you could take it in another state to avoid the $1100 course and then get it transferred to Florida. I wish I had more advice but all I can really say is stay positive. You CAN and WILL pass NCLEX! I wish you all the best.
Just found out I can take the test in another state and get FL license by endorsement....gonna use Saunders and focus on doing at least 100 questions/day for 45 days and really focusing on strategies...I WILL NOT FAIL THIS TEST AGAIN>>>THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT
