IUPUI/IUSON Accelerated BSN, Spring 2012

U.S.A. Indiana

Anyone else out there apply for the accelerated BSN program at IUPUI for Spring 2012? I applied and currently checking the mail everyday waiting for the 'letter'. I wanted to get this post started for all those who get accepted and discuss GPAs as we get our letters in the mail!

Yeah, IUPUI doesn't cater to "outsiders" very well, but you would think that IUPUC wouldn't be considered one. The SON will get you inputted and I don't think you will have trouble getting block 2 since you are only competing against the other 39 students in our cohort. Just try to get on their early on the 14th and you should be able to get it. You can also put them in your shopping cart so you just have to click register the day of. So excited to get rolling! It will be here before we know it! So do you have the correct CPR cert.?

I just put it in my shopping cart. Believe me, I'll be ready first thing on the 14th. I've always been overly eager about class registration though. I do have a CPR certification, but I think it will expire half way through the program, so I am taking the one offered by the SON. I will probably take one of the classes on December 20th. What about you?

I signed up to take the one on the 19th from 1-4 since I have my last final that morning. Can you do the one on the 19th? It would be fun to get to meet you!

It depends on when I get back from vacation. I was planning to be in California until the 21st, but I'm cutting my trip short, I just don't know yet how short. I'll let you know. Let me give you my email, so you can contact me directly. It is: [email protected] I will let you know if I am able to register in block 2. It would be nice to meet before school starts. I guess there is always orientation. Keep me posted if you get any new information, and I'll do the same.

Ok sounds great!

for all of you that were accepted to these schools, did you have all of your pre-req's done before applying? I am trying to get in to Purdue Calumet (ABSN) program, but I still need Ant 2, Statistics, and a computer course. When I apply I will currently be enrolled in Micro. and Ant 1

I don't know about Purdue, but at IU, you have to have Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology completed before you apply to the accelerated program, but I think some of the other pre-requisites (and there are a lot - somewhere around 50+ credit hours), including English, Psychology, Stats and cluster courses can be in the process of being completed during application. They must be completed by the time of admission with a C or better. To answer your question, all of my pre-requisites were complete when I applied. Good luck!

crdavis,

Would you mind sending me an email, so I know how to reach you? I want to discuss something with you, but not necessarily on this forum. Thanks.
