I was accepted into the traditional 2 yrs BSN program at UTMB Galveston on April 1st 2004. I was then accepted to the accelerated program at TWU about 3 weeks later(which I accepted and hence removed myself from the UTMB pool). I just rec'd a call from UT Houston on Friday Aug 6th (20+ days before school starts for the fall) offering me a position in their traditional nursing program. So please be patient and do not give up.I'm saying if not for the this fall, perhaps this will help someone in the future who reads this and is encouraged to not give up hope till the very VERY end.
I initially rec'd "Sorry, yada, yada, yada," letters form ALL 3 for the FALL 04.
But as folks declined, failed their prereqs. or realized that "Oh that Felony or Class C misdemeanor I got will prevent me from attending ...oh shoot" more and more spots became open. So DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED by those damn letters. Just stay calm, keep cool, pray, chant, do yoga or whatever you do and get you ears/eyes/heart open for the good news!

Congratulations, Albert! So, are you staying down there or coming up here?
There are 3 ....Denton , Parkland and ...........Houston
So no way(ina) Jose(fina). I'm staying put right down here. I was bred, born and raised in Big D. Now I only make the occassional trip back just to see my kin. Other than that I a Houston boy now.
By the by , the accelerated class started in MAY(they also accelerate the start date) I'm already 18 hours into this thing, with 18 more to go this semester.
Actually, I was just wondering. It does sound though, from your response, that my question wasn't unreasonable--you still could've come up here.... I really don't know much about TWU--or other Texas schools for that matter.
BTW, I thought it was "Texans" not "Texaners"? I really am out of the mainstream, aren't I???

No, attending TWU "North" is / was totally out of the ?????.
1. No accelerated program
2. Family
3. Home/Mortgage etc.
4. Been there done that.
5. See No.1
6. As I stated originally, I got all the offers I could shake a stick at right here locally

As far as TWU goes there are only two nursing schools Dallas and Houston. You can take you pre classes in Denton but must go to either Dallas (Parkland ) or Houston for the actual nursing part.

as stated there is no college of nursing per se, so you can't complete a bsn, but you can complete the rn to bs or msn as well as fnp degrees at denton

the following programs are offered in denton:
