It's official......I'm nuts

:uhoh3:

I can't take it. I just can't take it anymore.

I check these forums everyday hoping to find someone an alum or applicant from the SFSU Nursing program. I Google all possible phrases similar to "SFSU Nursing students" to try and find someone who is in or has graduated from the program.

I found a website from the first graduating class at the Canada program (SFSU has a satellite program that people with a BA/BS can apply to - the main campus doesn’t take 2nd bach, so this program allows people to apply and earn their BSN from SFSU though classes are held at a community college in Redwood City called Canada College) and I just find myself being INSANELY jealous of them.:angryfire

I PRAY (mind you, I’m not religious) that I get in and waiting until the last week of this month or early April is EATING AT MY SOUL. :crying2:

Am I nuts? Nevermind. Don't answer that....I know the answer already, I'm just in denial. :trout:

*Sigh*

MSN Generic.

They said by the end of 1st week in April.

And my mailperson is very casual about my deliveries. I got almost all of my mail a day or two late. Eek!

Hey gang! Its been a while since I've posted in this, my favorite, thread! A lot of craaaaazy thing`has happened since! I realize we lost our OP, Jewel, who just got accepted to her program! (CONGRATS girl!)... and mystiqx, good luck on that back up plan and your net!

Anyways, aroudn a week after I got my NLN resutls, I had this nagging feeling that I should call admissions just to check but ignored it. Finally, last friday, I just did, for some reason! its good that I did though because they said that it was the last day they were accepting NLN scores (from NLN!???). That was such a close call. THe application deadline was March 1 I think but they never said anything about the date they should receive the NLN. Good thing they had mine! Talk about being psychic.

ANd finally, one of the craziest things that happened was that my husband took the NCLEX last Friday tooo!!!! OMG. it was crazy! The waiting was even more intense than waiting as a prenursing student! We waited two days for the results and finally got it last Sunday! He passed! one thing off my mind.

I was so drained after the anxiety of those two days that I cant even think of Hunter right now.But its creeping up on me again.

Well, what's everybody up to guys?!

Congrats to your hubby thats soooo cute that you two are going to nurses together. How did that happen lol???? Did he inspire you? or was it something you always wanted to do but never got around to it? or was it just a huge coincidence?

Well May or june i'll know about beth israel, Im gonna take the NET for Adelphi but im not really excited about the school, just a back up option. I didn't even know adelphi had a manhattan campus.

Wait how is today the last day they apcept anything from NLN, don't hunter set the dates for the exam to begin with??? That doesn't sound very fair or maybe I misunderstood you.

I met a new nurse that floated up to my unit to do lunch coverage for my nurses. I love it when we get nurses from other floors to float for lunch i pick them about everything. She's a travel nurse, so she was giving me tips about travel nursing, and telling me her experiences and stuff. it was cool.

ok im shutting up now ttyl

We met in premed actually and we've been toying with the idea for quite some time. We parted ways for a year. He took a 2nd deg in Biotechnology, worked in a lab while i went to med. When we reunited, he had gotten accepted to UMDNJ and took the plunge! I loa'd after a year and worked for a while and finally decided to go to nursing too! :) Oh, and we got married somewhere along the way! hahahaha!

It was really strange with Hunter. When you send your app (deadline is Mar 1) the latest date you should be taking your NLN was Mar 3. The results will be sent to HUnter (supposedly within 2 weeks of the exam). I didnt know they had the deadline for NLN results set for last Fri (Mar 30). The didnt really tell us. Good thing I called.

This season kinda feels like a drought. Theres a month gap from taking NLN and waiting for results (mid May).... Sigh sigh sigh.

Well someone just responded to my other thread that i have for the school i applied to and he said he got a phone call for an interview. The Application deadline was on Monday, so I dunno, I hope I pray i get a call soon. This is so rediculous at this point. I just want my turn already. ahhhhhhh:trout:

All this waiting..... is anyone else going batty?

True.... true. I listen to hear if the door to my complex was opened, then rush out to the mailbox. What have I become? :uhoh3:

Girl i ask myself the same question. I don't sleep at night. Last night i stayed up until almost 3 in the morning watching Dancing With the Stars online. I go home, then i fall asleep until 11 at night, then i get up and make a full out dinner and then i stay up to all ungodly hours in the morning, then i have to wake up at 6 to get ready for work. Right now Im reading a 14 book epic almost 700 pages of tiny print each. Think Lord of the Rings but 14 books long. Yup ive lost it.

Hey

I have been quiet for awhile just observing this site and getting useful tips and info. You guys are great and very supportive.. i was wondering how you gals deal with stress?? Do you find it difficult dealing with getting in and other distractions going on in life? I just recently seperated from someone and nursing was my passion.. since this happened I am finding it hard to look up and ahead. They say you should put your dreams and goals first in life but I am not so sure it is that easy! Any thoughts?

Apologies, I don't know if this is the right thread to post this type of thing in.. :sniff:

I just figured we all go through stuff so any help I would be appreciating

Hi there heartm79, let me say welcome to the nutty thread, where everyone has lost their darn minds waiting for responses from their respective nursing programs, and also :welcome: to allnurses.com.

Im very sorry to hear about your split, im not sure if its a boyfriend or husband. I myself am not married so I don't think i would contribute much advice, but if its a boyfriend i can definately relate some what. I got my heart broken into teeny tiny pieces recently, well its about 6 months now i guess. Its going to take a very long time for me to heal, and trust the opposite sex to be more than friends, but i will get there. You know what I did, I started focusing on me. I decided that only I can make me happy and no one else. As far as stress relievers go, believe it or not, i watch cartoons, i work with cancer patients everyday, they are in all sorts of stages of cancer but mostly its later stages, or they have failed conventional treatments, hence sometimes they aren't in very good shape. So I watch alot of japanese animation to help get me away from reality sometimes (and im a huge kid at heart tee hee), i read alot, im on the 3rd book of a 14 book epic series (think lord of the rings only 14 books long, each a little under 700 pages and very tiny print), i also do tae kwon do when i get a chance too, and i am hoping to take some hip hop dance classes this summer. I do the things that make me happy to relieve my stress.

My advice, get a diary, Barnes and Nobels have these really cool books called Moleskin, they are pocket sized diaries, i have one, i write everything from my thoughts, to grocery lists, to things to do, every single little thing goes into that book. I say get one, use it to write your thoughts down, use it to map a plan for yourself in nursing school. Putting your life on hold because of the situation doesn't help, you are going to find yourself waking up one day wondering what happened, where did the time go and what the heck am I doing. Don't let this situation stop you from achieveing your dreams. Everything takes time, just take it one step at a time, and you will be ok. :)

i hope this helps you a little, and feel free to post here anytime.

Jeez this post was long...if you haven't notice im a blabbermouth

im shutting up now
