It's a few days until NCLEX-RN 4 me...any last minute tips and ideas please?!!!!!!!!!

Published

I am testing for the 3rd time this Friday august 8th and I would like any last minute ideas. I am very overwhelmed and am not sure how to wrap up my studying because this test is like none other.....I've worked very hard studying and unfortunatly it didn't pay off the first 2 times (I'm really hoping this is my last time). I have not been making any $ and I've been down because I can't help my family financially (my parents are still taking care of the bills). Any advice from those who've passed or yet to take the exam would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Although I have not taken my NCLEX -RN I am also testing in a few days. I find the Random Facts Thread very helpful. Posting on the site helps to keep it fresh in my mind and reading facts worded in different ways helps it stick a little better. I would not depend on it as a sole means of study, but as a supplement and a quick refresher. I can totally sympathize with the stress you are going through though. Good luck on your boards and I'll be praying for you.:loveya:

remember to take the day off before the test and relax. good luck and i know you will be great!

Absolutely! For me the hardest part was delegation and prioritization. I wrote these 7 things on my sheet I got at the beginning of the test and I refered to it throughout:

1.ABC 2. Change in LOC 3. Change in VS 4. Unstable metabolic disorders (hypo/hyper glycemia, electrolyte shift) 5. Pain 6. Any treatments you need to perform 7. Family requesting you to come/Discharge teaching

This will help you so much! Good luck you'll be fantastic!

Hello my sista, I am in the trenches this coming Friday at 8:00 am also conquering this exam. We have done everything we know to do and now we relax and do our best to the Glory of God. :wink2:

Try to trust what you know! And do practice questions. Also, take the day or two off before you take the NCLEX and do something fun! Good luck :)

Just wanted to wish you luck and let you know that one more fellow nurse is praying for you. I will be taking the test for the 3rd time soon also, but I've got to complete Suzannes plan first. Stay positive, keep the faith, and DO NOT let the stress screw with you. You will do great!! :D:nurse:

Ok so my exam is tomorrow (sigh) and I still can't find the word(s) to describe what I'm feeling. On top of that I'm dealing with personal issues in my life but they're not as serious as the NCLEX but it's on my mind. Ok so I just took a shower and ate a good breakfast and I'm about to do questions from the P&D book n review meds until about 4pm then I'm doing my nails and getting everything ready for 2morrow (att, snack, etc). Ok now I know what I'm feeling, anxiety but I am trying my best to supress it. I've heard 3rd time's the charm but I know I need a lot more than luck to pass this exam.. I'm sorry to go on and on but this is the only thing that truly helps me relax. I def need to pray. If you're reading this please pray for me. I know I can't know everything for this exam and although I am a little more confident than I was b4 (a little) I still feel like there's so much I have to know because any topic is fair game for this exam. It hurts to know that ppl who graduated a year after me have already passed their exam and I'm still struggling. I really hope and pray this is my final time. I don't want to take my family on this NCLEX rollercoaster anymore :uhoh3:

I will definately pray for you! Take time for yourself, don't do any heavy studying today. Maybe read casually through the Random Facts Thread to jog your memories.:heartbeat You can do this. In fact, as you drive to the NCLEX tomorrow say out loud, " I can do this. I will do this. " Don't worry if other drivers think your nuts. :loveya: Most important, take a nice long hot :tbsk: before bed tonight. Get plenty of sleep and eat well in the morning. Good luck.:wink2:

I would love to relax all day but I don't know if I'm ready for the exam...I don't know where to stop...I feel like I don't have a strong hold on the meds, maternity, and labs. I had to come back to allnurses to read some encouraging posts because I'm now scoring 60s in the P&D book when I was doing mainly 70s. Now I feel like I have to keep going. When did you know it was time to stop studying?
