radiology nurse? im need of some enlightenment
I am a ED RN looking to make a change. I saw job opportunities for radiology nursing and it sounds very exciting and like something that I may really be interested in. The only problem is I have a pacemaker. Any idea if this would make me unemployable as a radiology nurse?

This Is How To Pass The Nclex!!!
I guess it was easier the second time, since I passed! haha Good idea taking it somewhere different, you won't get psyched out at all. Just keep studying, and relax the day before and you'll be fine!

This Is How To Pass The Nclex!!!
hi congrats and thank you for sharing. im testing on friday, but i've read the book the you have mentioned 3 weeks ago, and only read the first part, only the multiple choices part.im only scoring high half to 60%. did you finished the entire book? thanks. i didn't read the last part because i focused on saunders.:) but now that you say so, i think i would brush up again to that book. def keep doing the book i mentioned. it is better than saunders, it was more accurate to what the test was actually like, for me anyways!

Are 12 hour shifts safe?
I personally wish that I could have 12 hour shifts, mostly because of the wonders of only working 3 days. I think that they are safe when you take that into consideration. It's only working for 3 days a week. I think the hospital needs to make sure that the nurses get a good enough break while on this 12 hour shift. My question is, do most of the big Northeast Hospitals (Boston, NY, Washington) have 12 hour shifts? I heard it was two 8's two 12's?

It's a few days until NCLEX-RN 4 me...any last minute tips and ideas please?!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely! For me the hardest part was delegation and prioritization. I wrote these 7 things on my sheet I got at the beginning of the test and I refered to it throughout: 1.ABC 2. Change in LOC 3. Change in VS 4. Unstable metabolic disorders (hypo/hyper glycemia, electrolyte shift) 5. Pain 6. Any treatments you need to perform 7. Family requesting you to come/Discharge teaching This will help you so much! Good luck you'll be fantastic!

And get that book, it is amazing. Good luck and if you have any more questions just let me know. You'll be sensational! :)

This Is How To Pass The Nclex!!!
AFTER FAILING THE NCLEX ONCE I HAVE NOW PASSED!!! LET ME TELL YOU HOW I DID IT... Two websites were absolutely wonderful for me: rnquiz.com and a website from the NCSBN, http://www.learningext.com/products/rnreview/review.asp The first one was more of a quick but very good review of everything imaginable and quizzes at the end of every second and then four 75questioned timed tests. The second one is very very in depth with extensive quizzes. I would overall recommend the second one a bit more than the first just because of how in depth it is. If you just read all of that information and take all the quizzes it's a done deal, you'll pass! The other huge thing is this book: Prioritization, Delegation, Assignment by Linda A. LaCharity, Candice K. Kumagai, and Barbara Bartz. That book is a lifesaver and an aboslute must to get. I failed the nclex the first time I took it because I had no idea how much of the test was goign to be on prioritization and delegation. I would say 75-80% of the test is questions that were similar to the ones in this book. It was truly my lifesaver! I would reccomend doing as many questions as possible. When they say do 1000-2000 questions that is for real. I didn't barely do any the first time and I failed it, and this time I did aprox. 1500 and I passed! when prioritizing who is the most important patient to be seen remember this: 1.ABC 2. Change in LOC 3. Change in VS 4. Unstable metabolic disorders (hypo/hyper glycemia, electrolyte shift) 5. Pain 6. Any treatments you need to perform 7. Family requesting you to come/Discharge teaching That is a must know and what helped me significantly! No worries you can do this if you just believe believe believe. Unwavering faith, let no thoughts of limitations enter your mind. You are an RN! If you need anything more just please let me know, I'd be more than happy to help you.

NCLEX- what if I can't pass? Please! Need Suggestions!!
LET NO THOUGHTS OF LIMITATIONS ENTER YOUR MIND!!!!!!!!! I understand what you are going through though, I too failed at 265 questions in June. Then I just took it again and had 265 questions again and passed! Seriously this is the worst test absolutely evvveerr and I truly believe it does not show how well you can do in the nursing profession. Let me give you a suggestion that I swear will help, it was my lifesaver. I used the book called Prioritization, Delegation, Assignment by Linda A. LaCharity, Candice K. Kumagai, and Barbara Bartz. I would say 75-80% of the test was questions that were identical to this book. It is a absolute must as all the questions on the nclex are somehow about these three areas. Takin the Kaplan course too is going to totally help you rock this next test. Every day though you need to say outloud to yourself, "I am a registered nurse. I can pass this test." Saying I CAN is such a powerful thing. And remember, a focused mind is the most powerful force in the universe! GOOD LUCK!

NCLEX-RN passed with 265 questions!
I just found out today that I passed as well with 265 questions! So everyone out there worried about getting the max amount of questions, don't worry too much because it is possible! I'm the happiest I've ever been and loving having RN after my name!

Re-taking NCLEX please help!
Thanks so much for that information! I hate this stuff so much, I just panicked during the test and I made it so much worse than it should have been!! That site that you said is really good, and not too expensive. I like that it does timed tests just like the nclex style. At least we've done it once so it can't be as horrible this time because the fear of the unknown is gone. This blows though! Good luck to you too, we shall prevail!

Re-taking NCLEX please help!
So the end of June I failed my NCLEX and now I have to take them again, which stinks...a LOT! I have the Saunders book and Mosby book but I feel like most of my problems were with prioritization/infection control/delegation. Anyone know any good books/ideas to help with that? Also, has anyone heard of this thing NCLEX Secrets--whats its deal? I feel like this is taking over my life, I hate it, I just want to be a nurse!

Took NCLEX 3 Times.....265 Questions
So, I just found out after two days and 265 questions, that I failed my nclex and I have truly never felt worse in my entire life. This is by far the lowest moment of my life. I had no idea there were so many priority questions on the test and I also think I just had an overall breakdown as soon as the computer hit 265, I sabbotaged myself. Does anyone out there have any advice for me at all...I'm so so sad!
