It has been 4 years... not so sure anymore

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone! Hope everybody is having a good day. it has been 4 years since I graduated BSN in the Philippines. I have been trying to pass the NCLEX but until now, no luck at all. It seems to me that I am slowly forgetting what I have learned (Clinically & Theoretically) in my 4 years in the Nursing school. I enrolled in kaplan , paid $700 but did not really worked out for me because all the instructor do is read questions in the projector for hours. I am enrolled in a review center right now and still trying to get the hang of it. I am working 5 days a week, so I only have the weekends to study. I failed my exam twice, and I just submitted my application for a re-take. I am not sure what am I doing wrong here. I have all the material, I have saunders, kaplan, nclex made easy, feuer audio, kaplan medication flashcards, and the list goes on. When I get home, I try to study at least 2 hours, and I try to suck all the information, its just that whenever I see a book, my brain automatically alerts me to say No!! :uhoh3: I take the practice tests but the highest score I can get is 60%. I sometimes wonder of nursing is really for me. I love nursing, and I personally think that is the only field I really see myself doing for a long time, and it just doesn't seem to go on that same page as much as I want to.

Sometimes I wonder if a structured study habit is all I need. Need advice..I still love nursing just like how it felt during my first clinicals when I was still a student. Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks!

I took the NCLEX 3 times and just passed on my 4th attempt. I had a steady diet of 7 hours of sleep per night, 3 healthy meals per day, exercise, prayer and meditation, and a very effective review school here in Los Angeles. If you are able to clear your thoughts of any past negative experiences to reduce the anxiety, your confidence will sky rocket and that will be key when going into taking your test.
