Hello,
I am an LPN currently enrolled in EC and am working towards my first exam (Lifespan Development). Since I have only just started, I was looking into ISU as well but wanted to see what the pro's and con's of each were?
I understand you need to pass a CPNE with EC, but clinicals are Local with ISU. Is there a major cost difference? Are the classes the same? I understand both are approved in Florida.
Do they both off 'on your own pace' classes?
Any thoughts or suggestions from attendees of either would be great.
Thank you in advance!
Yikes. That will keep you busy. Remember 450 has a ton of reading and a bunch of assignments including a health project, teaching assignment, clinical journals, book report, epidemiology assignment, not to mention 90 community-based clinical hours.
Yeah and 424 has a 6-8 page evidence-based practice paper too and I'm driving 45 min each way to Hopkins for clinicals for 424. Good thing I like coffee! Last spring I took (I forget the course numbers): Transition LPN to BSN, Psych, Research, and Assessment all in one semester. I barely had time to keep up with stuff let alone study. My 4.0 dropped to a 3.76. Missed an A in Research by 1.2%. I ended up with 2 A's and 2 B+'s. This semester I'm taking 324, 318 and PE 101 so I'll be able to get the GPA back up. Hopefully 450 and 424 don't kick it back down again!
Oooooh, you got time at Hopkins!!!!! :) :) :) Nice!
Girrrrl OMG! I got the whole rest of my clinical time there (except the community health thingy that I'm doing at NIH)!! :yeah:The 90 hours for my high acuity course and the 135 hours for my final practicum are ALL at Hopkins in the same ICU! Yeahhhhh BABY!!! I seriously did not stop grinning for days. I'm such a doofus. :smokin:
