Issues with BON re: probated license

Published

Did you get this resolved? I have been battling the state for 4 years as a student. I went to mandated rehab for an assessment ($3000) and was told I have a drug problem due to prescriptions I was prescribed by a doctor. All from the same doctor filled the same day each month (the 1st) and all for a legitimate medical reason. Then I had to attend a mandated board certified addictionoligist evaluation ($2500) in which I was told the board was wrong in all of their accusations however when I was given the results from the board, the addictionologist stated I had a drug issue and needed to be on probation. I'm already over $1000 in drug screens (every single one negative) and they just sent me a letter today that I haven't been paying my fees even though I have receipts and they have all gone through my bank as deposited. I feel personally attacked by the board and I don't know what to do anymore.

I recently graduated with my RN. I have a probated license due to board actions (unfortunately I did nothing wrong, just being punished for a paperwork issue which was proven to be the state boards fault...) Does anyone have any experience doing an online RN to BSN program with a probated license? All the schools I have looked into require an unencumbered license. Thank you!

I don't have any experience or insight into your situation, but I hope that you find some helpful information!

As a side note, are you sure that "probated" is the right term? I think that has to do with wills. Do you mean "probationary"?

Hello,

You are not providing enough details to give an intelligent and appropriate answer. "Paperwork Issue" can mean many things. Also, if it was the State Board's fault, why would it be a probationary license? It looks like you need legal advice.

Yeah i would hire a lawyer that specializes in the BON in your state.

Yep Lawyer up!!!

As far as the BSN, I did an online state school because it was cheap. I don't remember them really asking for much besides a check. It didn't have any clinical requirements and mostly consisted of on-line group finger-painting projects. Good Luck & Happy New Years!!!

Ugh, thats my least favorite kind of finger-painting project.

On the boards website it says "probated"

Sadly they want a large amount up front that I can't afford to pay.
