LOOKING INTO NURSING SCHOOLS. I AM SUPPOSE TO START UNION COUNTY COLLEGE IN SPRING OF 2008 BUT I WOULD LIKE SOME INFO ON TRINITAS SCHOOL OF NURSING IN ELIZABETH NJ FROM ANYONE WHO PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED, GRADUATED OR LEFT FOR ANY REASON.

hey 123NRSE2b456, i am very happy that you made it, Im currently going to trinitas and will be in 231 in spring semester, didnt repeat any class and didnt find the school too difficult yet but had a question, how did you do in 231 and 232, im trying to get the answer but students are just not giving me the correct one, like how hard is 231 compare to 132 and what strategies did you use to study, would be great if you can answer them for me, thanx :)

231 is different, you may find ob to be harder than peds. 232 was rough (*mainly psych because it was sooo different) but the exams in 232 overall are not as hard as they used to be (this is coming from some of the repeaters in my class that had the classs previously. I didn't find the exams in 232 to be hard but the final was pretty scary). But you can still do pretty well in 231 and 232. alot of people do fail 231 and 232 there were a few that I know that failed 231 but a good majority of us passed 232 this semester. Hope that info helps.

I c, thanx for the info. i also heard that 232 is easier compare to before i think that's because of failing ratio, hope that's true thou lol..

It's different, the exams are not as hard as they used to but 232 is still complex lots of work.

Hi, Im in Trinitas Just finished 130 and Chem. I have 3 kids and a hubby too. I will never forget what one of my remedial math teachers had said right around the time of finals, she said "I know you guys are real tired now and the holidays are upon us, the best advice I can give you is to fight thru this and remember to always FINISH STRONG!!!! go home study and do your best dont slack off and ruin your grade at the end of any semester"

Im starting Nure131 in a few wks. and I'm def. real nervous b/c I don't know what to expect. I try not to listen to all the negativity out there because everyone is different and we all have different experiences. One of my nursing Prof. said " Yes this is a tough course and so is Mulenberg or any other program. Nursing is nursing wherever you go and we all have to learn the same info in the same amount of time. There is alot of info in the books and they don't expect you to read every chapter word for word. Learn to skim the words and get an idea of what's going on. She also said that" No, the prof. are not out to fail you, we are trying to make you great, competant nurses that can function on your own. All the prof. are aware of the comments and negativity being said about the school and they say its not true, JUST WORK HARD. They will yell at you and try to knock you down if you do something wrong. Don't get offended if you get yelled at doing something wrong, learn from it. I guarantee you won't make the same mistake twice. Doctors in the hosp. will yell at you and pressure you too and you have to be prepared to handle it and not break down and cry about it. (Cry behind closed doors. Don't let them see you sweat) If you have questions or don't understand something don't wait till the last minute until its too late."

I hope this encourages anyone at any level. I am just begining too but sometimes words of encouragment is all someone needs to keep going. Sometimes alittle tough love is good too.. Good luck to everyone out there.

wanna b,

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I'm starting 130 next month and I am a little anxious, but ready to start. I have been watching skills videos and reviewing nursing math to prepare. I wish you lots of luck in 131 and you remaining classes.

Happy New Year!

Starchild,

It's not that bad...really, it's alot of reading and memorizing terminology, just read what they give you then write it all down. Math is all formulas refresh yourself with basic math(add, sub, multi, division with decimals) make flash cards too! when you get tired and bored of it and feel like slacking off just read, read, read and dont stop.. btw start memorizing all the theorists and what they did ex. Nightingale,Johnson, Manslow etc.. If you need help with the math send me a privite message and i'll give u all the formulas just in case they don't give it to you. Good Luck

Passed my Boards 1st time around Feb 26th it's official!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking 34,

I just got my final grade from Trinitas nursing 131 class and I am happy to say that I made it to 132!! I like the program so far everyone is helpful and nice. I too commute from the NY area and its not to terrible for me there is parking but traffic could be rough at times. This program is no joke it requires alot of time and dedication to reading and understanding the concept. I say go for it!!!!

I have been reading the posts regarding Trinitas School of Nursing. I graduated in 2006. I received the Kellogg Scholarship and completed the program on time (without having to repeat or dropany course). I must agree that Trinitas is a very rigorous program. It is not for everyone. I see not much has change as I too walked away with the feeling that the instructors did not care about the students...AT ALL! Not your time, your money, your emotions, nothing! We were just a cash flow! Don't buy that "oh we are only trying to make you better line" because this can be done without all the nasty attitudes and mistreatment of students.

I was so happy to be done. The only reason I continued the program was because of the scholarship. I vowed to myself that if I was given less than the B I needed to receive the scholarship, then I would move on with my original plan to go to law school because it would not be worth paying for those attitudes.

My thing is...call a spade a spade! Don't be like those instructors at Trinitas...putting on a happy face, acting like everything is hunky doorie and tricking students into paying their money for those courses knowing full well they won't make it through. I actually think they do it on purpose...this is how they are profitable.

But Good Luck to everyone who moves forward in what every you choose!
