I am registered to take A&P 2 and Microbiology this summer. I keep hearing I should take one or the other but not both over the summer. I can't decide. I really want to take both because I have the best professors lined up and neither teach in the fall. However, I need A's in both courses and summer semester is half the length of a full semester. I don't want to over do it and then end up with bad grades in one or in both but at the same time I think I can pull it off getting A's in both during the summer b/c I have good professors and I will put in the effort. I do have 2 little ones at home though, a 4 y.o. and 1 y.o. Can anyone weigh in on this and tell me if it is a good idea or bad idea or BTDT? I appreciate it!
thats what i am doing....i took the A & Ps(1 & 2)...A's in both....and i am now taking micro...AAHHHHH!!!.........he keeps referring back to regular bio....like...oh you should know this you just had this in bio....NOPE!!.....30+ yrs ago is when i had bio.....so i have to GO back and learn....back tracking stinks!!!!..
and you say this is nothing compared to NS........WOW...then i am in for a huge rude awakening.....and now i am scared as heck!!...
i am a LPN now.....i keep telling myself...if i can get thru that 10 month intense fast paced program...i should be able to do this....that is why i am taking ALL the sciences now......so all iwill have are the nursing subjects.......they say that is the way to go.....i will be starting an ADN program in the fall.....
I did it during the Spring semester. I got a B in Micro and a C in A&P2. If I would have focused on only one at a time, I probably would have recieved better grades.
I'm taking Micro and A&PII right now. I don't find it too bad. I have two small children (5 & 2) too, and two jobs. Well, this is spring semester instead of summer, so I understand that it's going to be more material in less time....but the material is not going to change in itself. I actually find that the two actually go together. In both classes you really have to understand the concept/physiology instead of memorize. I have great professors too, so that helps a lot...they keep you wanting to learn the material and be able to explain it to anyone in layman's speech. hehe! You will be fine!! Just make sure you don't get lax on your studying! LET's GET IT!
In addition to pointing you towards my update, I did want to add for other people reading your post about doing both together with 2 kids and 2 jobs- this isn't typical- please don't attempt this . hahaha.
