Is this program legitimate?

My fiancé and I are looking to start nursing school together. The school we are looking at is five minutes from our house and recently obtained a RN associate's program.

My questions and concerns are:

• Is it okay to graduate from a program that doesn't have a reputation?

• Is it ridiculous that they don't include clinicals and in fact state that upon completing the program you will be able to sit for the NCLEX? Without doing clinicals somewhere.

Should I worried?

Actually, the poster you quoted is the one who made that post. So, if he/she really wants that paragraph deleted, they can contact the help desk for assistance since they are most likely beyond the editing window.

I was also ask if the degree awarded for their nursing program is an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)...there is a difference in the area of social sciences electives, which may mean an added course to take in a BSN program...depending on the program. When I bridged from LPN to RN, I had a choice of the two degrees. The ASN required x-amount of credits in science electives. The AAS option indicated that I could take electives of my choosing as long as the required sciences are included. This school seems to using the abbreviations interchangeably. By all means, correct me if I'm wrong.

I feel like if you have to ask if the program you're interested in is legitimate or not, you should probably find another program.

From that website:

"Graduates are then eligible to apply and take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)."

This is different than "you will be eligible to take the NCLEX upon successful completion"

Seems like a indistinguishable difference - but one means you will get your ATT, the other means you have to apply in hopes of getting your ATT.

HUGE difference.

Also, why in the heck would you WANT to do a program without clinicals?

Do you realize the amazing disadvantage you'd be giving yourself? It's like a hairstylist who went to school but never picked up a pair of scissors.

Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Not even a little bit.
