Is Politics a Religion?

If you are a Trumpist republican and you believe that Hispanics and Mexicans are rapists and murderers or whatever stupid notions about Jewish people etc, do you go to a Mexican restaurant or socialise eg at a party with Jewish people?
 Since hypocrisy appears to infect republicans to a greater degree, do you think that they can schizophrenically switch their personal views to suit the occasion? They easily do it with religion! They affiliate politically with far right group's politics reinforcing that Hitler or similar people, had some good ideas but even simply acknowledging that, is psychologically damning and he or his kind needs condemnation on all fronts to negate the evil they spread!
How with the continuous scandals of the GOP are their supporters able to justify their choices? 

Therefore, does republican political beliefs approach religion re delusional content? They are frequently Christian or say they are but do the exact opposite of tenets of Christianity, therefore they obviously don't believe in the outcomes, so is it delusional or simply embracing the structure of the religion for selfish purposes?

I’m a conservative Catholic Republican who thinks you may be generalizing too much. However, I see the mockery that many Trump followers have made of Christianity, and it’s my humble opinion that Trump himself is no Christian, let alone a savior. I despise him and others of his ilk, whom I voted against in the 2020 elections. He and his cadre of white Evangelicals make all Republicans look bad, and I’m sick of it. I disagree with President Biden on a number of his views about abortion and illegal immigration, but I have to say I love waking up in the morning and Trump is no longer President.
