Is Med/Surg the best place?

Is med/surg the best place for a new nurse to start their career? I will be graduating as an RN in May. Your input is appreciated.:idea:

I guess that eveyone thinks that there experience is the best one but yes i think that m/s will prepare you for a lot of things that you will encounter in nursing...all pts whether ob, pedi, ortho will have other problems that you can assess with more confidence if you have a wide range of experience

It's the best place if it's where you want to work. If you don't want to work there, it won't be a good experience.
