Is my job making me sick?

Published

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing alright. So let us begin shall we? A few months ago...just about 2 now I was hired at a hospital I lovvve as a PCT. As nursing major of course I was thrilled - however 30 days in...things began to get a little weird for me...

I started not feeling too well - I'd wake up in the morning naseous and feeling like I was going to black out...I started noticing that my heart was beating way too fast (130-140 and 115 for sitting)

I started getting sweaty and just feeling really tight in my chest. I decided maybe it was just that I hadn't exercised in a long while and so the walking and moving around really took it out of me.

So I did...and it seemed to be working...resting heart rate at work was now about 90-95...for a little...

Then recently this past Monday before I clocked in...I fainted. Currently resting at home with a major head and neck ache but I feel okay other than that.

I was checked out and all of my lab results are normal minus my glucose because the pumped me full of apple juice after I fainted.

My family believes it could be anxiety and that I could have had a panic attack - but I don't feel stressed or anxious at work.

In fact I love it there. My coworkers are amazing and I love taking care of the patients.

What do you guys think? I don't doubt it could be anxiety.

I'm just not sure how it is even possible when I feel at ease during my work day.

Does anyone have any ideas or stories to maybe help me out? I'd really hate to be canned just because I can't seem to get it together :/

It does sound like a difficult situation to be in, and I hope you are able to figure it out, and go on with your life and career.

Did they do a pregnancy test with the blood work?
