Is the any FNP schools that do clinical hours after the program?

Published

Hello All,

Thanks in advance for any advice. I am an RN with 5 years of acute care experience and thinking about going back to school to become an FNP or Acute care NP. It seems that all the schools I look at have you do your clinicals during the program. I plan to move to Costa Rica over the next couple of years while going to school online. Is that possible? and is there any FNP schools that let you complete your clinical hours after school so I don't have to come back to the states until it's time to do clinicals? Thanks for any advice.

Many state BONs require nursing school clinicals to be concurrent with the classroom portion. In those states, I would expect the requirement would also be true of NP programs. I don't think what you are looking for is really going to be possible.

Thanks for replying

Frontier Nursing University does their clinical rotations at the end of their didactic. They cover it in 5 clinical classes that span 680 hours.
