My CA-NCLEX will expire soon. I heard that CA-BON is giving extension letter. Is this true? Kindly give us the guidelines to follow. thanks.

No guidelines, we had some members contact the BRN with a letter explaining retrogression and that they was caught up in it. They got an extension but it will be done on an individual basis. How much time have you got left just in case they say no and you have to move results to another BON?

yes you cant write them for extension expan to them regarding the imigration status, and you can also apply in vermont and have your result forward to them and they will issue license without ssn.

Try to ask for the 1 year extension first.
If you were able to get feedback early that they are willing to extend it, I find no reason to endorse to another State Board especially if you don't have any intentions to work on that State in the first place.
However, if you want to be sure you can do both.

Based from my experience, I wrote CA-brn a month and half before and they did not respond to any of my inquiry. I tried emails, mails and been calling them. So I thought that it was best to transfer my results to VT. but got the extension from CA-brn dated days AFTER my file expired. On my own personal opinion, CA-brn will only extend your file when it is already near your expiration date.

I guess I was luckier, I emailed them once a day for a week, and got an email from them. I pleaded for at least 6 mos extension but got approved for a year..

My CA-NCLEX will expire August 16, 2009. I don't know when is the right time to start sending letter to CA-BON. Do you think I should start it now?How about the other option?(applying to Vermont) when should i start applying for hard license just in case CA-BON won't reply? thanks...
hi gorgeous... i just want to know if the extension letter that you've received is via e-mail or thru postal mail? Is it almost the same letter that we had when we passed the NCLEX? thanks..
Much too early to be requesting now, in my humble opinion. I remember someone who made a request very early and the board replied to ask again 3-4 months before it expires.
When you do, try not to spam them. Be considerate of their time and others who are e-mailing them as well. I think an e-mail after a week or two after a no response is just right.
