Hi Everyone,
I have been working in a nursing home in PA for six months now and want out of there so bad. The state has been called to investigate this place at least six times since I have been there. Everyone keep telling me with a BSN that I shouldn't have a problem finding a job in a hospital, but I am. I am willing to take a job anywhere except where I am working now - but I have not had any luck. Is anyone else having this problem?
There are other places to start in Philadelphia if you can not find a hospital position, I recommend Bayada nurses. They have a great pediatric and adult orientation with trachs and vents. You can always do homecare until you find another job. If you have a NJ lisence, the Cherry Hill and Voorhees offices are always hiring. They hire some new grads.
Try places like Bryn Mawr Rehab, Magee, Moss, Fox Chase cancer, Hospice programs, like Vitas, Lighthouse, Samaritin , Trinity., Visiting Nursing of Greater Philadelphia, Holy Redeemer, or look into another area like clinical admissions nurse or nurse liason jobs for medical equiptment companies or nursing homes.

I help people find employment where I work now. Coverletters, Resumes, Thank You letters, etc.
Here are my suggestions:
-Go to your local CareerLink office (FREE Pennsylvania employment resource) for their suggestions for the resume. They have workshops or individual sessions can be set up.
-Write a specific coverletter for each position applied for. Careerlink can assist you with this as well.
Goodluck! The statewide website is below.
