Is anyone else as nervous as I am about starting school???

Published

I just picked up my books for the fall semester. I'm taking prealgebra, freshman english, and general psychology. I am SCARED TO DEATH!! My biggest fear is the math, because it's a real struggle for me. I've been out of school over 20 years, and I guess it didn't hit me or seem real until today when I purchased my books - I'M ACTUALLY GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!! OMG!!!

My two oldest kids (16 & 13) keep telling me I'll do fine - they have all the confidence in the world in my abilities. Why don't I???:o

Just make sure you utilize your schools tutors if the school has them. (If you need help.) Don't get behind, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Your children are old enough to allow you to have peace and quiet to study, and old enough to help you with math! LOL

Good luck to all of you!!!

Just wanted to give you my vote of confidence. I took my first college class at 37, five years ago. I was excited but had never been so nervous or anxious about anything in my life! Not even childbirth LOL. Once you sit through your first day your nerves will calm about 100%. The classes you are taking will be good for starting back. I was also amazed at how much life experience affects the type of student you are. I love going to school and as an older student you will put so much more into getting good grades. You'll do great, signing up and making the decision to go back is a huge step. Lots of people never get to that point. Good luck to you.
