And for you older women out there, from what I understand you guys do the best in nursing problems, the youngersters are the ones that don't quite make it.

How so?

I dont know about nursing school, but in my micro class, we only had 1 (20s') student make it to the final exam that was not in the 30's ++. In my A&P class, same type of thing, the best students are the older ones with families for the most part.

I just think this is due to the fact that older students are more serious, we have too much riding on our success or failure.

Yes!! The whole process can make you feel intimidated, but never give up hope! I'm not the most confident person in the world and it was rough getting through the pre-reqs. I'm almost done and there were so many times when I didn't/don't feel like studying but you just have to keep pushing, and hard. Just push yourself as far as you can go...you will see that the better you do on the pre-reqs, more doors will open up for you. You'll get accepted more places and get offered more scholarship money.

It was really hard for me because I ended up only applying to one nursing school (mostly because of this stupid private student loan I have that won't let me attend the hospital based programs) and they only accept like 75 out of 300 people per year into the program, but I found out a month a go I got in. Now the pressure is REALLY on because A+P II is rough and I need to get at least a B in both Chem and A+P, plus focus on my other full-time classes as well. And I also need to take and pass the NLN, plus all of the other hoops you have to jump through.

Just apply to as many schools as possible and surely you'll get into one. :D

Good luck and just keep pushing! Never give up!!

You can be disheartened, intimidated, and stressed. But stay undaunted! Never give up, give it all you got and you'll get accepted eventually. Thats what I did, and I'm finally in! Good luck to all :)

I am for sure....it seems like I am never getting done
