Hello!
Is anyone applying to SMC (Sacramento) ELMSN-FNP program?? I'm taking one more pre-requisite course this Spring. I'm also preparing to take the NET test too. I thought that maybe we could keep in touch while we're preparing for admissions. And perhaps support eachother during the wait =)

I'm actually getting ready to apply to the ABRN program for 2010. I just met with a counselor on Monday and mapped everything out. I'm retaking a couple of classes since it's been awhile - graduated from Sac State in '03. I'm also looking at the FNP program as a back up too. I ordered the NET study guide today. I'm so excited!!!

I am thinking about applying for Fall 2009 SF ABSN, but REALLY want to try and get in for Jan 2010 ABSN at Sacramento.
Maybe I'll apply for the entry level masters too...I am not sure yet.

Awesome! That's great to hear. I've seen the counselor too and I'm still working on pre-reqs. It's been almost 5 years since I've graduated...graduated UCSB in 04'...eek! But five years seems so long ago, but I'm back in the studying mode.
Anyways, can I ask what NET study guide book did you buy? I heard the ERI study guide is good (only $30.00). I'm going to ask the counselor, Liza which book she may suggest.
Also, I looked up the NET test schedule..
Feb 14
March 12
April 18
There are a few other dates after that, but apps are due July 1st for the Sacramento Campus.
I'm thinking about taking the March 12 exam in Oakland. Maybe we'll see eachother :)
Good luck studying and keep in touch!

I'm getting ready for 1/2010 ABSN also at the Sac campus. I'm taking the NET on 3/19 in Sac. Have any of you taken the NET before? It's is pretty comparable to taking the SAT but harder?
I'm taking the NET on 4/16 at sac. Good luck to both of you! I heard that the study guide was pretty right on with the actual test. The reading is the harder of the two sections. I say that we stay in touch on here through the application process. How far are you all in the application process? July 1st will be here before you know it!
Great to hear you registered. I wanted to take tha 4/16 at Sac, but I work full time so I couldn't get there in time. 4/18 in Oakland work best w/ my schedule. I received the NET study guide book...I heard that the NET isn't too difficult..(i am hoping). Also, I spoke w/ Liza..just in case you didn't know...SMC will be transitioning from the NET to the TEAS in May this year. I'll probably be taking both to be on the safe side.
As of now...I'm working on my personal statement. I have my first rough draft done. I'm requesting all letters of recommendation. And I'm planning to take the NET 4/18. How about you? Hope things are going well!
Good luck on the test. I haven't taken it, but I heard it isn't so bad. I just got the Study Guide book and took a brief look thru it...doesn't seem too bad (but I haven't taken it yet..so I don't really know). So, have you already taken pathophysio and pharm? Did you take it with SMC?
I haven't taken the pathophysio and pharm yet. I was going to take them either at Moorpark or Santa Barbara CC this spring/summer. I know that they are transitioning to the TEAS but I wanted something cheaper ($36 for NET vs $50 for TEAS) and I want to take the test ASAP, so I registered for the NET. I'll let you all know how it goes when I take the test in a couple of weeks!
I took the NET tonight. It wasn't very difficult ... except for some portions of the math. If you will be taking the NET, make sure you understand mixed fractions (i.e. 5 3/4 + 7 4/9) and how to add them. Make sure you understanding how to divide fractions as well. Good luck!
You're so lucky it's over and done with. I'll be taking it 4/18 and I'm still a little anxious all the while. Any other insight/advice??? Thanks! Good luck on the results! :)
Will you be apply to the acc BSN? Or ELMSN-FNP?
I'll be applying for the ABSN. As for the NET, there's nothing to be nervous about! It was pretty simple, I just happen to be horrible at math though.
