IRSC Fall 2014 Hopefuls!

Published

Hey everyone! I know this is super early to be talking about the fall semester but I just got my denial letter for the Spring 2014 semester so I wanted to make this group for anyone that's applying or didn't make it in like me. I got a 109 score on my NLN exam which makes my total points for program 130. I took A&P I & Micro which accounts for my points. I would like to retake the NLN in 6 months & hopefully I can do much better. I'm currently enrolled in A&P II & plan on just studying my butt off for the nln in the process. Classes I have left before I'm done with all my "pre-requisites" are A&P II (which I'm currently in), Chemistry, and Nutrition. (which I plan on taking those in spring/summer). Maybe we can get a study group together eventually if anyone is interested! Best of luck to everyone! :)

If you Google "NLN practice questions" or "NLN flashcards" a lot of different flashcard sets will pop up on quizlet.

Oh cool thanks !

I know it has only been a week, but the anticipation is killing me! I'm not very good at the waiting game...

@SBabs Me too!!!

the anticipation is the worst

I can't wait much longer....lol

I can't imagine how the alternates feel...I read on a different blog that one person on the alternate list waited until the week before classes started to find out she was accepted!

Craziness

The waiting is tough, especially when someone said we might hear in two weeks. That's making me more nervous by the day.

oh gosh..thats horrible! I hope we find out before spring break!! its feels like its been forever since the deadline

Hi guys! I just turned in my application about a week ago! I got a 139 on the NLN and since I am not out of Micro yet, my overall score is a 151. I'm so nervous, I can't wait to find out. I just finished reading all of your posts, and it sounds like the applicant pool is very strong. If they are only accepting 50 people then I don't think I will get in this semester :/ If I had my micro points I would have an overall of 167, so thier is always fall semester. who knows, I will keep hoping! I hope they are speedy regarding our acceptance/denial e-mails!

A 151 is a very competitive score, I wouldn't stress about it too much Katie

Thanks, I hope so. One other problem I am stressing about is my transcripts are not complete. I am a senior in high school that completed all my prereqs being dual enrolled. I don't graduate til June but I spoke with a counselor and she says I can just turn in another copy of my transcripts once I am graduated. However, in a competitive program that doesnt seem likely. But lets hope for the best. I emailed head of nursing to see if I could find out anything about the date our acceptance/rejection letters are sent.

Wow a high school student with that high of a score is very impressive! Great job, you have to think an absolute worst case scenario you reapply in the spring when your micro bio is done and with that score you will definitely get in.
