Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello, I am interested in apply to the fall 2017 nursing program at IRSC. I figured I would start this so we all can discuss any of each other's questions. This is my second time applying last application period I had a total score of 136. I am feeling confident with the new gpa requirements and all the studying I have done so far that I will be accepted this time. For those of you who have taken the NLN before.. what do you feel helped you the most studying?

Good luck everyone!!

I heard the same thing from previous irsc students, 160+ total score is in a very good place. I didn't hear about them lowering the accepted number though so hopefully everyone makes it in!! Just a couple more weeks to find out!

Hi JeffreyJ30,

Thanks for the input. I may have to re apply next semester then :(

Hi JeffreyJ30,

Thanks for the input. I may have to re apply next semester then :(

I wouldn't worry too much, the people in the computer lab during my nln were saying that there were a lot of no shows plus they bumped up the gpa for non lpns to 3.0 right? so I don't think the competition is too stiff this year. Stay positive!! :)

Hello everyone! I am a fall 2017 nursing hopeful as well. My first time taking the NLN was May 10th (this semester). Scored a 130 with 27 additional points from the other classes. My total score is 157. Worried sick. Right in that place where I don't have above a 160 and can feel confident. I am quitting my job this week in expectation of getting in! Everyone has scored so well! I hope to meet you all in class this fall. #PRAYERS

Letters are out! I'm in! Looking forward to meeting all of you soon! (Side note: time stamp on post shows 9:28pm but it's only 5:30pm est)

OMG that's awesome! God I'm anxious to check. What was your score?

Thanks!

162 total (137 NLN +25 pts)

I got in as well! Good luck to everyone who hasn't checked yet and congrats RNinmyfuture!

Awesome JeffreyJ30! Congrats!!

Hi Jeffrej30,

Thanks for your encouragement, but I did not get in :( I guess my nln score was too low, it does not say why. Congratulations to all who made it in!

I am an alternate with 156 total pts. Does anyone know the likelihood of alternates getting in the rn program? I'll be at the orientations but I'm so nervous.

Aliciatags...not sure about likelihood. I do have a friend who had the same score as you (prior year) and she said all alternates got into the program!
