IRSC Fall 2017 applicants

Published

Hello, I am interested in apply to the fall 2017 nursing program at IRSC. I figured I would start this so we all can discuss any of each other's questions. This is my second time applying last application period I had a total score of 136. I am feeling confident with the new gpa requirements and all the studying I have done so far that I will be accepted this time. For those of you who have taken the NLN before.. what do you feel helped you the most studying?

Good luck everyone!!

About how many Chemistry and Physics questions did you guys have on your test? Was it more biology or more Anatomy?

That's still really good. Congrats, what was your percentages in each subject?

yeah I was meaning to ask that. Our percentage is what matters? but how can they calculate it when there are others that still need to take the exam. also what is everyone's percentage so far?

well the total score is what counts, the percentage is basically a breakdown of the sections that make up the total score

sorry i meant percentile, as in how we compare with others. for instance if you make the 90th percentile than it means you are in the top 10%, in other words you scored better than 90% of people who took the exam. im aware that they also show percentage of what we got right on the test. im just wondering how can they determine our percentile if there are people who still need to take the exam?

I wondered that too, but I saw a chart somewhere that had the percentiles next to each score. I think above 145 was 99% then from like 140-145 was 98% and so on. I'm not sure how it can be set if it depends on how everyone else did. Also, I only had 3 physics questions, maybe 1 anatomy, and mostly general bio and chem

I believe the percentages are compared to prior years results ~ not current.

Ooh that makes more sense. But i still think scoring in a higher percentile sorta increase our chance in getting in. if you score 99% higher than those last year, it might be a little perspective on how much better you scored compare to your peers. but then again who knows.

Any thing new guys? any new scores? ... I take my test tomorrow...

Nothing new...so quiet! Good luck on your test tomorrow! You're going to ROCK it!

Have been sending you "good juju" all morning! Did you take the test?

Hi everybody! I'm new here. Took my test today and I have a total of 156 points. Hope this is a high enough score to get in 😬
