So, I was informed that I have to give Invega Sustenna Initial loading and booster in the Deltoid only. Does any nurses out there know the rational why?

I don't know. But the information that comes with the dose specifies this.

Monthly maintenance doses may be given in either the deltoid or gluteal muscle, per the information contained in the reference supplied by the previous poster.
Thanks Altra for a fast reply. Still, it does not explain why we give the first 2 doses in the Deltoid.

This is from the prescribing info:
"Following intramuscular injection of single doses (39mg - 234mg) in the deltoid muscle, on average, a 28% higher Cmax was observed compared with injection in the gluteal muscle. The two initial deltoid intramuscular injections of 234 mg on day 1 and 156 mg on day 8 help attain therapeutic concentrations rapidly"
