Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

after a chaotic first year in nursing school (where do they find these people??) in a community college, i transferred to excelsior and am loving it. aiming for my rn by summer, 2004 (this year!!! can't wait!!!)

i have a son, daughter-in-law and new baby grandson; and a daughter and son-in-law who are the parents of two dogs and a rabbit. son is headed off to kuwait on 11/17, the day before he turns 29.

so glad i found this site full of involved and wonderful people!

i'd love to here from older students starting on a second (or third) career and from anyone in an accelerated/entry level/or articulated masters program.

i started out at texas tech majoring in veterinary medicine and after changing my major about 50 times i finally decided on nursing and i really feel as if it fits me.

im very interested in neonatology, but recently i have also been looking at crna programs. for right now, ill just be happy to graduate so im not looking too far into the future. :chuckle
