Hey all!
I am currently down to my last three pre reqs before I can apply (plan on next fall if I can buckle down)
Anyway I WANT to take microbiology with APHY102 and then will do Avanced Phys after
My question is, since I could choose microbiology OR chemistry which would you choose? Which will be more beneficial to me? I am HORRIBLE with chemistry. I got a D in high school so I would like to avoid it if I could but would suck it up and learn if it will help me in Nursing School.
If I had to choose, I would pick microbiology. I loved that class. Chemistry, ugh, my least favorite. I got through it, but it took a lot longer to learn and process the info in Chem. Micro was a breeze for me because I was really interested it in, I feel like it relates more to actual nursing more than chem.
Is this to tell me what transfers over for the bridge? I might be doing it wrong but I didnt even see Ivy tech FW campus on there.I did just realize I have a meeting coming up next week I think with my advisor though, my husband came up with a lot of questions to ask about what the nursing school schedule will be like. That man cracks me up because when I told him they are going to pick it for me he was like "how do they get anyone to sign up for it if it's like that, theres no way" sorry dear. We're told that's how it is then we either do or don't. Idk lol
Yes. Someone else shared that site with me to show me (for example) that we have to take Ivy Tech A&P 1, 2, AND advanced in order for Ball State to accept credit for their one A&P class. I know it's not super user-friendly, but I do believe it contains the answers you seek. Somewhere in there. Lol. I don't think you'll find your specific campus... it's just to show you how/whether Ivy Tech credits will transfer to other colleges in Indiana.
As far as the schedule for the nursing program ~ they are in the driver's seat, for sure. They say jump, you say, "how high?" It's just the way it is. Tell your husband it's just the nature of the beast. What other choice do people have? Oh, that's right... they just don't become a nurse.
Hahahaha I laughed so much at this!! It was so difficult but after talking with my advisor I decided it best not to apply until next fall and be a spring hopeful.... i just didnt feel comfortable not having APHY 102 and chem 101 some BEFORE I took the TEAs. So here's to hoping waiting a LITTLE longer is worth it!!

Well, glad I could provide some laughter. :)
For some reason I thought you were applying for next fall anyway. Best wishes for getting it all figured out!

Good point! I ask students why certain medications cannot be stored in the solution form but must be stored in the solid form. It is one of my open-ended questions to get people thinking about applications of Chemistry.
