Holy cow! I did not expect this to happen!
I had an interview today for the NICU and it went really well. The manager was already talking about getting us on asap so we can get into the NCLEX review class that the hospital puts on only a few times a year for new graduates.
Then I got home and had a voicemail from an adult oncology unit asking me for an interview at the same hospital!
I feel pretty confident that I got the NICU position just because of the way the manager was saying things and by her body language.
She said I was supposed to find out today if I got the position or not but it's past 6pm here so I'm guessing HR is holding things up since they have to verify (I'm guessing) that I did graduate from where I said I did and am eligible to sit for boards.
In the meantime, if the NICU position doesn't work out, I at least have another opportunity although I'm not as excited about this one because I don't know how well handling cancer drugs and radiation would mesh with being pregnant (we're TTC right now).

Good for you! FWIW, you would not handle any cancer drugs or be exposed to any radiation on the oncology unit. Chemo can only be hung by those certified to do it and radiation takes place in a different part of the hospital. Either way, it sounds like you are on your way. Good luck!
