This was the 2nd interview I had been on and I was nervous. It's really all a blur now, but I felt I "ummmmed" my way through the whole thing, despite the fact I prepared questions. They asked me some questions about HELLP, abruptio placenta, and another I can't remember now...I just drew a blank. These were things that I knew the answers to, but froze. I can brush up on maternal health in my nursing books again, but when I'm put on the spot I tense and forget everything.
Just take your time to answer questions. Take a deep breath and think about it.I know how you feel, I had an interview where I just rambled on and on my mouth got so dry the manager asked me if I wanted water1 so embarrassing. But hey its all a learning experience and will make you better for the next one. Good luck!
A great trick is to take a glass of water and hold the cup/bottle. Explain you throat has been dry from pharyngitis if you have to. Everytime you feel nervous sip a drink of water while gathering your thoughts. Learned this from a lawyer friend and have found it to help. You can slightly fidget the cup/bottle without looking nervous but you cant play with it.
However, if yo survived nursing school you should know you are only slightly below super hero status now. Many quit, failed, or bailed and you know it. Remember that and be confident!!!
Good luck!!!
The interview went really well; however, this job is in another state so I'm applying for licensure by endorsement and I'm afraid by the time I get a temporary license it will be too late. The recruiter called me back, and said they're hands are basically tied until then. The NM e-mailed me too and wants me to keep in close contact with HR and let them know as soon as I get my temporary license. So I've not been given an official offer, but I think it's promising. I'll post when I get an official response.

I had an OB fellowship interview a few months back and BLEW IT BIG TIME!!! I recovered and moved on and was offered a job in another area. Today I got a call for another OB interview at a different hospital, I want to be prepared and confident and not the bumbling idiot I was at the first interview, lol! Any suggestions?
