I just passed my nclex pn test after taking it for the second time. I have an interview and med test tomorrow. I'm frighten to tears, what should I suspect. I was told it's about 60 med questions. What questions should I expect the nurse manager to ask me? Can someon please help:uhoh3:I feel like I'm taking the neclex all over again.

Pull out that "calculate with confidence" and start refreshing your memory. You'll be OK. Just relax and think things through. Even though the pharmacy does the calculations for you, before you hang a med, you need to know that the right dose at the right rate is being given to the patient. So of all the things about nursing school that you wonder if you'll ever use again, (like hand written care plans!), the dose calculations are something I'll do on a daily basis. When you are on the floor, there will be other people there to check your math and vice versa. So take a deep breath, review and you will be just fine!

Hello
Don't worry too much about the medication test. I just took one yesterday. I was really nervous because although I have been a nurse for 7 years it has mostly been in the neonatal intensive care . This test was all med/surg. I really want this job so I was nervous. I went back to my dosage calculation book from nursing school for a little practice. Make sure you know how to do problems where you need to figure out gtt/min, problems converting oral meds, IV meds, drips, insulin sliding scales and meds based on weight. I was a nervous wreck yesterday but I passed with 100%. Practice a little and you will be fine too. Best of luck landing your dream job.
Thanks for the advice, but I'm still feeling quite nervous.:uhoh21:
