Interview at Duke

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi all,

I am graduating this May, and I have just received word that I will have an interview at Duke University Hospital next week. I was wondering if anyone had any interview tips for me? This is my very first interview (besides a life guarding job) so I need all the help I can get!

Thanks so much to everyone who replies!

Really? For the shadow period too? I'm slightly conflicted as they said you can wear scrubs even to the interview. The interview is first at 1230. Then I am scheduled for a two-hour shadow starting at 1pm. I was thinking about going in suit first then changing - but it doesn't sound like there will be much time to change as it is only a 30 minute interview. I would hate to make the patients feel uncomfortable if I'm walking around the unit with a suit. Hmmm...maybe I'll call the recruiter.

I ended up e-mailing the nurse recruiter I've been working with. She said to show up in scrubs. And it will be a individual not group interview. Maybe they've changed the format for the SNIP hiring?

It could just vary from group to group. What unit are you interviewing for?

I interviewed for Neuro. Hope I get it, Duke looks like an awesome place to work and I really want to move out there!
