I am nervous and excited I have a interview for a CNA program on Tuesday the program will start on the 20th if I am accepted. I am in the process of switching careers currently I am a hair stylist. I plan on enrolling in a LPN program that will began in May. I meet with the college advisor for that on Monday. I think that becoming a CNA first will really be helpful to me in my LPN course. I have been out of school for quite a few years so this is very scarey for me. I worried about leaving my old job I respect and enjoy working for my current boss but this is a change that will be a positive benifit for my family and I know by working as a CNA I help out someone who is in need.

Congratulations! I'm just finishing my CNA class and will begin an RN program in January. I am an older student, too, having been out of school since '91. I also left a lucrative HR career. I just wanted to tell you that you're doing the right thing. After experiencing the clinicals in the class, I knew it was right for me. Giving baths, wiping butts, and feeding people...crazy as it sounds...made me feel so fulfilled and at peace with myself. Although I loved my HR job, my company, and the $50k I was making, I never had one day in which I felt half as fulfilled as I did last week during clinicals. No matter how much you like your boss or job, you have to feel as though what you're doing is important and makes a difference in this ole world! Good luck and congratulations on making this scary, yet worthy change! You'll do great!!!!!
