I believe ISA deploys students to UH before. Well i know until know they still do. But since there are 2 new schools GCU (Glasgow Caledonian Univ in Scotland) and UN (University of Northampton in England) I decided not to go for UH. I have paid ISA more than 300k and my scheduled departure is on June. I am just wondering, if ISA do not remit the tuition fee to the school; how come I contacted both schools in England & Scotland and they inform me to process my application through ISA since it would be way cheaper that way. Honestly, for UN / GCU Bsc International Nursing costs 8950GBP if I will process it myself. And that's for the tuition fee alone. But with ISA its 650k pesos with tuition for 2 years. confusing?!?!

I know people here would say it's better to process it yourself. But how come these schools in the UK are telling their applicants to process it through a specific agency?? any inputs about this?

Also, for ISA students who are enrolled in BSc Int'l Nursing and NOT NVQ is it true you can work for 37.5 hours / week?

The universities should have their own International student advisers so you should be able to contact them to discuss your concerns

  • do a work placement as part of your course;
  • work as a postgraduate doctor or dentist (if your course of study is a recognised Foundation Programme); and

I believe that the owner or director of JOB CONNECTIONS UK and STUDY CONNECT here in the Philippines are one. I think this thread does not allow me to mention any names, so i cannot disclose the name of the owner..Anyway, i actually have a friend who applied sa Study Connect and i was with her all throughout the application process, and she had no problems with her SV application she is now in UK.. Study Connect was fast and transparent with their fees and transactions, not to mention, MUCH CHEAPER than what ISA is offering. They also offer the 2 year BSc Intl Nsg. program in UH for BSN graduates and the Overseas nursing program for RN's as long as you have 1 year nsg experience and IELTS 7 on all bands..gosh, i sound like im endorsing them..hahaha..:Dbtw, im not im just sharing what i know....

hi.. i just want to know about the study connect consultancy how much will it cost me to apply for the SV? becasuse i'm also applicant of ISA my friend and i already paid 320k each..

i'm under the 2 year course in UH..and yes everything you have said is true..about study connect and job connection..yes they are one..the job connection is just located in uk..they have also conection with ISA regarding the degree course in UH..so with another agency study international..the course in UH is like a business arrangement between the school and agency..everything you will decide to do with ur course and placement you must let ISA know or else you will be sent home that is a rule agreed by the agency and school..it's a degree leading to nothing...they have fooled us..especially those who are qualified...with experience and passed IELTS..sure the school know they can take ONP already but still they are saying that they must finish the course before aplying to ther NMC..that is s waste of time and money..

and yes ISA is still sending student her in uk until now..lot of them still have no work..some are trying to put the agency down..but still they are indestructable..with plenty of money..sure they can manipulate everythings..and still continue to fool students not only nurses.

one of our classmate already went home simply because..he was trauamtize by how the ISA staff treat him here..

Hi Guys, Im from ISA too I already paid the full amount for the program ISA arranged for me and at present I am waiting for the embassy interview. I just want to comment on the topics about ISA and Study connect.

Here is the bottom line for us registered nurse who wander in search for a good career to land on and yes its hard. Even in the phil its hard to find a job because of the impossible requirements companies are asking. :D

No matter what agency we choose and what country we want, the burden of that decision will ALWAYS fall on us RN's treating different problems with unique individual solutions these is who we are. TOXIC as always :lol2:

All this agencies only want 1 thing from us money, all business and company are. Thats how it works agree?

We are tough as what our trainings and course taught us- work under pressure and without supervision, I just want to say do not give up. If you are there in the UK or any other country, that is your first step, its up to you on how to be creative and resourceful NO GUTS NO GLORY RN's always remember that my comrades:yeah:

well easy to say,.thats your opinion,.but you should also think that you can not be an RN after this course..you will still need to have 1 yir experience in the phil.and must past your ielts..you will work in as carer of course,worst if they let you do laundry,kitchen and cleaning..toilets,bullied by racist,and your not allowed to transfer and the post study work visa that they promise after your course will cost you 5thousand pounds to get it..and ISA will not be assisting you..

school is not that easy..you stay in a hotel during a week for 4 times a year..expensive..you will do essay..2k-7.5k words..its not that easy..you will do 2 essay per sem..

3 of my batch will be going home soon..that's how hard life is here..so if you have a choice think very hard..going abroad does not always mean a better future..you will be earning that 600k for two years before you know it your visa ends..there is no way for you to get a work permit..

dare me,you will regret it..a 100 %..

I agree with Skye's opinion and with zkunkz opinion as well. Yes agencies just want money from us and that is true. But the difference with this agency is that they treat US, the primary clients and the source of their bread and butter, like trash. They do not care about their clients one bit and they act all high and mighty. I'd like to protect everyone by advising them not to go through this company. There are so many ways to get into any of the 1st world countries that doesn't involve International Student Advisors 4U Inc..

Zkunkz, I know you are excited to come here and I am happy for you. But when you will be assigned alone in the middle of nowhere like one of my classmates then you will definitely not be happy about it. In fact, 2 of my classmates already went home because this agency will not listen to reason. Their only concern is how to make money from us "Poor Filipinos". I've never encountered such a discriminatory attitude like the Leonards.

Since they do not give value to us, I'd like to prove to them how valuable we truly are. I need everyone's help, please link to my blog and put links all over the internet to protect all the others from making misguided decisions.

easy for you to say.. I have been like that, hopeful and optimistic, before I went here in UK.. But once here, you'll realise that your investment is not worth it. Perhaps, its alright for those who don't have debts (I'm guessing that's your case) for they can surely go home anytime they want to, but for others who have incurred a lot of debts in the process, you will just stuck here.

Like Skye said, you will NOT be allowed to transfer placements, despite ISA saying (in the Philippines) that you can choose where you want to work. There are others who are in a difficult situation, like being bullied, yet ISA delays taking action. They do so under the pretext of following "grievance" procedures and all that, and it has to be in writing, documented and all that legal stuff we aren't used to. If you won't do it their way, they will just ignore you. There are already a number of students who went home due to the ill-treatment they received from ISA, the agency who is supposedly looking after the students' best interests.

They make their advisors/assessors lie to you, deliberately withholding important info till the last minute till you are left with no other choice but to succumb to their will. It is us, students, who are making them rich.

Please don't be fooled.

If you have experience, then use it to work as a nurse. As of now, UK is accepting nurses (work permit) who have at least 1 year experience as a nurse. Be keen and watch out for nursing opportunities and not be deceive by false promises of shady agencies who are only after one thing -- to squeeze every penny out of you.

would be interested to see how they qualify for a work permit when nursing is very limited on the shortage occupation list

* specialist nurse working in operating theatres

* operating department practitioner

* specialist nurse working in neonatal intensive care units

@ silverdragon - sorry I didn't specify. Yup, they're currently hiring OR (operating room) nurses and NICU nurses, who have at least 1 year experience in that field.

Its a pity to read about so many poor experiences in the UK with the above company, ISA. The Australian Immigration Skills List, 2010 has not changed with respect to RNs from overseas. The pathway is difficult, certainly, because a very high standard is maintained; but that does not eliminate conscientious, hard-working students from doing the bridging study or conversion courses to upgrade their qualifications. Nor does it alleviate the need for a high English standard, IELTS Level 7.0 in all four test areas.

Good luck, persevere and results can be achieved.
