It a good think i found this forum specifically fo ISA applicant..I also applied to the same agency..i started my application on july 9..i finish all the process and was granted with SV on oct 27..good thing i only waited for 3 days..anyway like the rest its had been a very long time waiting..i was suppose to be with the nov.intake until it was moved and moved until now, they said it will be on january but no assurance yet since i dont have exact schedule yet..as for the delay they explained it to us..the only thing that is clear to us is that they have so many applicant waiting,,like for the caregivers..from sept.up to now they have not yet left..considering they have there visa already..i am enrolled in UH for a degree course..which i know would not benefit me which regard to my nursing career, unless someday i would be able to pass my IELTS and have a 1 yr exp...i paid 500k all in excluding alawance when i will get there and other expenses like medical insurance, bnk acount etc..so it would sum up to 600k..

as much as i regret my application there is nothing i can do than to fly to UK..with so many good and bad newsabout SV in UK..i dont know what to expect in UK..i just hope and pray i would be on the good side..

As an update,ISA is continue growing..there are updates like the NHS which no longer exist because of some problems with the working hours i think..also they have new affiliated schools in the UK still and in Scotland..flocking of applicant still continues..well i can not blame them for the life here in the phil..exp is not very easy to find..imagine thousand of nurses everywhere..where do we go..it's all up to us..that's all...

well i just hope i will get intouch with the rest of ISA applicant here..i will continue updating on how did i go with my application with ISA..so it would be of help to those like me who is always looking for an answer..i simply hope and pray it would be good for me..though i know there are lots of bad news about SV..but i the only thing left for me is to pray..U

goodluck to everyone...

remember 12 months caregiver experience will not count as RN experience

sky56, Please think very carefully before you decide to come here. I have met soooo many without placement provider and I truly pity them. Many of them has to ask their relatives back home for money. 5 from my hometown came to see me- they claim they applied at Global Summit. They were informed that they will not have any placement provider but they still came. They came last Nov. and still no wok placement. My advice, you should be ready and bring enough funds. The present situation is far different from when I came here. Then, we were assured of a placement provider. The adage " Early bird catches the worn" applies in this circumstance.

i know that very well..as i've said this SV has nothing to do with my nursing career..

does anybody here heard of immigrant visa center? any feedback?

same here.. I was fuming mad when I found out that UH students cannot work at the NHS anymore, was considering withdrawing my application. But I didn't since I was on the process of applying for my visa.

ISA really have a great tactic for catching and deceiving students. As of now, I'm currently in UK. I'm single and doesn't a family to support back home, so I'm doing fine with my finances. I am able to survive with my wage.

How about you? Are you in UK already?

they do have really good tactics in deceiving us. they have lots of promises but if you'll think about it, its just too good to be true. i actually attended one of their so called "orientation" way back 2007. and they told us that we can register at NMC after finishing the course. which is not true, unless you have an IELTS band score of 7 and a year of post registration experience as a staff nurse.

i am currently here in the UK but i'm not under ISA. I've been here for 18 months already. going home this april and im going back to the hospital where I have worked before.

honestly speaking, if you are a registered nurse, student visa is not really a good option. be patient and gain experience as a nurse in the philippines.

life here is not easy especially so if you do not have relatives or friends. so for those of you who are planning to go to UK under student visa, think about it many times before pursuing your application.

like ladygie24, if your single and you dont have any responsibilities then its fine but if you have to send money to your family, well you have to really think about it.

I'm from ISA too, I'm still here in the phil. and i already pay 150k to ISA. rgarding with the 35-40 hours work placement/wk is okey for me since I still single and I'm not pressured to send back. But my biggest concern for now is the latest or new rules that i have been hearing. Accordng to my sources UK border will only allow student visa holder to haver 10 hrs work/ week plus 15 hours for the school. Is there anyone here who heard about this news? how true is it? I really want to bck out from ISA but i dont know if i can still get the 150k that I gave them.

I am still hoping that withis new rules, we can still work even 35 hours a week.... pls reply, thanks guys. Its been 3 sleeplees nights for me after hearing this news:crying2:

this is what is stated on the uk borders agency website regarding the new changes, so a lot will depend on how your course is classified. if less that degree level then yes you are restricted also if degree level then you are restricted to no more than 20 hours so you will not be able to work your 35 hours you are talking about

q. what are the restrictions on employment for students?

a. students may work part-time for a number of hours during term time depending on their course, and full time during vacations.

*

students following a course of degree level study or a foundation degree course can work for no more than 20 hours per week in term time;

*

students following a course of study below degree level study (excluding a foundation degree course) can work for no more than 10 hours per week in term time.

tier 4 q&a for students

- Yup, you heard that right. 10 hour limit for below-degree level, so if you're on NVQ, then that rule applies to you. Good thing for you, you only paid 150,000. That's not much, considering that they're charging (currently) 600,000. You can ask for a refund. However, they won't be as prompt in paying as they are when asking for payments. It could take a few months, depending on how persistent you are in following it up. You might need to be forceful and they may have to be threatened. Otherwise, your request for refund will fall on deaf ears.

Does anybody here know on how long ISA deploys students for UH after getting an SV? thanks?

ISA deployed me after about a month. But as of now, I think it'll take longer. You see, there are lots of ISA students here in UK who don't have work, and some have been deployed here since last December.
