hi.. the personnel services i wish to apply to help me find work in US requires me to be a CGFNS passer..but from what i know, only 2 states require this.. i plan to go on my own without agency and apply for licensure in CA while waiting for the result of the NLE. do you think it will be worthwhile? ive read that i have to declare that i took the NLE and I will but would that be a reason for CA BON to delay my application with them? i dont want to waste my time..the result of NLE will not be released until last week of august...

If the state does not require CGFNS exam then there is no need to do it and no need for use of agency. You easily be done direct and once you have passed NCLEX and language exams you have more chance of finding petitioners. No reason why you don't apply to the state you want to work but tell them you are waiting results so they may delay your application until you pass results onto them. I think it does not matter which state you apply to because you have taken NLE it will probably delay application until results are given

Do you think i need to wait first for the result of my NLE before processing my application for licensure to any state since in any way it will be delayed until I have given them the results?:uhoh3:

NJ does require that you have the CES completed thru CGFNS. And they will not issue the CES if you have a pending result from the NLE exam. If you have never taken the NLE, then you just need to advise them of it. But if you write it, then they need to wait for the passing results.

And it is still more than two states that require the CGFNS exam before they will permit you to take the NCLEX-RN exam.

One post, you mention working in NJ, the other one states CA. They are completely different and have different requirements. The issue becomes that you wrote the NLE exam, and hence, need to have proof of passing it be sent to them.

hi suzanne and silver dragon, thanks for your immediate response on my querries... now i have decided to just wait for the result of my NLE..

i thought of applying in CA because i thought they don't require local license and it will be easier to apply there.. i also asked about NJ because that is one of the state on my list where i want to migrate.. but as you have said i need to decide where i really want to go and start from there and also about the result of the NLE since i took it, i need to have a passing result...

thanks suzanne... now things are clear for me... i don't need to rush.. thanks so much..

for my further questions i know ur just there to answer it all.. :)

your welcome

plenty of time and also a lot to think about when deciding where to live. Make a list on what you want and don't want that might help you narrow things down

CA does not require the NLE. The issue comes into play if you did in fact take it, then you need to provide proof of passing to them. Same thing to get a Visa Screen Certificate, they will not issue it until they have proof that you have passed.
