learning disability nursing in New Zealand.

Dear All,

Hello  .

I am a registered nurse in england wondering if New Zealand would be a good place to work.I am a dual registered nurse, Learning Disabilities and Child Branch/Paediatric Nurse.

I was wondering if New Zealand has similar nursing qualifications especially in Learning Disabilities/Intellectual Disability. My own particular field is the provision of Respite care service for Children with Learning disabilities and complex medical/health care needs. Do these services exist in new zealand and if so what is the job situation like. Also is cost of renting houses/cost of living, expensive compared to salaries paid.Lots of questions and not many answers at the moment.

So any help with the above is greatly appreciated :) .

Regards,

Darrin.

Hi Darrin

Try accessing the different hospital websites. Just type in 'district health board new zealand' on google or yahoo search and you will get a list of the different hospitals. You can also access websites for the different towns in NZ which usually indicate cost of living etc. :wink2: There are usually vacancies advertised on these websites too.
