To make it easier for you to understand:

If you are not on the DS-230 that is filed, you will be waiting minimum of two years to get to the US, if not even longer. So getting married just before he leaves for the US will not get you a visa for the US at that same time.

hi suzanne! can i insert a somewhat similar question here for you? i've heard that even if i did not include my boyfriend's name on the DS-230 that was filed, but do still get married around the time before my Packet 4 arrives(or before interview), I can still bring him with me as long as I've filed and paid the necessary papers needed for him. Is this true?

And what is this Follow to Join Visa that I keep hearing about? It takes about one year processing after which your hubby can follow you in the US if he wasn't able to go to the US with you at the same time? Is this also true?

Thank you in advance and more power!

Im actually a month pregnant now, and my bf is hesitant of getting married. He recently passed the Nclex exam and he is just waiting for the retro to lift so he could proceed to his applications abroad. He felt that the idea of marrying soon will delay his plans on going abroad. Is it possible that we can marry as soon a possible and have me included on his application? Will this affect or will it delay his application? What will be the best move or decision should we take? Is it good that marriage will just come later after he pursued his dreams abroad? He promised to marry me soon after but the idea of not getting married while having a baby is somewhat unacceptable especially to my family.
