EB 3 Visa times?

World International

Hi all,

A quick question on the EB3 visa the only visa currently available for nurses in the usa at the moment I am born in the uk and heard talk at the start of retrogression that EB3 visas are issued quarterly for each country and the visa bulletin lumped a lot of countries in together in the category "worldwide" and you should check your individual contries visas. Someone here said that the uk issued their visas quarterly.

How do I check what the current date is for EB 3 visas for uk citizens? Is there a website that breaks it down from "worldwide" to country specifics or is there a numbe call?

Or am I wrong and clutching at straws :lol2: and the worldwide date is the only date fo uk nurses!!

not broken down for each country look to worldwide and currently Aug 2003

EB-3 visa quotas are actually out on a quarterly basis, this is when they are made available. And numbers that are assigned are per the country where the person was born. But remember that EB-3 is for many professions, not just nurses. Many, many professions. That is why the date is so far back.

Right now, they are on about 2003 or so. Most professions usually are about five years to get the green card. But the 2003 is not written in stone, they do not list each country and the number that are allotted each time. Those that are from countries where there are very few wishing to immigrate to the US, they get processed quicker if there are visas for their country available. There is a larger number of UK nurses now that wish to work in the US. More so than there have been in years due to the lay-offs in the UK.

We expect something to happen with the nurses here, but not for a few months at the earliest.

And the UK does not issue visas for the US, they are actually issued by the US State Dept. Since the Schedule A was removed a few months ago from the Bulletin in February, nurses are included in the counts with all others that are waiting for a visa. As it stands right now, being included in the Eb-3 category, there are thousands ahead of you that have been waiting.

That is why we are waiting for something to be signed, but the government here can make any changes that they want, when they want. We never expected to see the Schedule A gone, and it was removed.

No one has any control over this.

Thanks guys,

Thats just the information I was looking for I thought it was broken down by country but it seems from what you all said uk is at 2003 aswell. Heres hoping the fix for retrogression is coming soon but as everyone im not holding my breath its just sit tight and wait and see!

There is not a breakdown specifically for nurses, separate from the others that are under the EB-3. That is why until there are visas created, since the Schedule A was removed three months ago is what you need to look at. Back in the fall, Schedule A still existed in the Visa Bulletin, when things started to get retrogressed. And the countries that were thought to be the only ones affected still have earlier PD dates than the others.

Suzzane,

EB3 lumps alot of countries toghether in the worldwide category, do they look at the individual countires. are there alot of polish nationality nurses?

when is the next quater to relaese visas for EB3.

thank y

Lower number of visas available for those from Indonesia in the first place. But under the EB-3 category, there are still quite a few from there in other fields that are still under the same category.

With the CIR not happening for now, it may get things moving for the RNs.

Did you say five years? Oh God have mercy. Does the EB-2 category move any faster?
