International Immunziations

So I have some students (Maybe two or three?) that have immunizations from other countries, one I'm guessing is from Canada and the other from Mexico, but their immunizations kinda confuse me. I tried looking online but I'm still not sure, do they do combo vaccines in other places or is it just that they are missing some vaccines?

For example: I have a student from Mexico, In Kinder, 6 yrs old. What I seen online, he has all of the Dtap, all of the Hep B, All of the Polio. But he seems to be missing one more of MMR (It says, Sarampion, Rubeola y parotiditis) and he doesn't seem to have any of varicella. Is he missing these or are these shots combo?

P.S, I'm from Texas.

I don't even bother, I just send them to the health department to get transcribed and put on a catch up schedule!

I don't bother either. The health department transcribes and issues the provisional admittance along with the dates everything is due. On a side note I did have a physician call me today to ask if an international student who already had varicella disease last week needed the immunization. smh

What I mean is do I send the family myself to the health department or can I do the paperwork myself?

Send them to the health department. Stay out of it until you are presented with a transcribed immunization record with proof the student is up to date according to the catch up schedule.

I told mom about this, and asked if she could do that for me, because while it's hard to read the vaccination record from there, it also stays in the system so if the doctor needs to get it out to see it or if they lose the old vaccination record (Like I did.), they can always access the record online and print it out easily. I also asked if they can get the vaccinations that are missing, but if they don't comply by march, I will send that last letter of reminder before they aren't allowed at school.

New students from Mexico seldom have varicella. Send them to your local health department office to have the immunization record transcribed and give them immunizations needed to start the catch up schedule and get enrolled.

This is what I do also.
